President Obama posing with Nebraska jersey

Recommended Posts

Of course he likes the Huskers, or at least the colors. Don't all socialists like red???

i would just like to point out that the big 10, with their revenue sharing, represents a communist framework of wealth distribution (you know, from each according to their ability, to each according to their need), while the big 12, with TU clinging desperately to what it earns, and believes it is owed, it representing a capitalist framework of teams competing in a free market and those who earn more keep more. just something to think about.

It's kind of funny that you bring this up. When the Big 12 was first formed, Nebraska and a lot of the Nebraska administration was all for those who are on TV the most getting the most revenue because we were the best team in the league and were on TV the most. It's quite amazing how opinions have changed in the past decade. Maybe it's because I'm a small business owner, but I'll take a capitalist framework any day of the week. When wealth distribution starts to take hold, it doesn't take long for the strongest ones pulling the wagon to figure out that riding in the wagon is less work. Before long, everyone is riding in the wagon without anyone pulling it.

i disagree. i think the strongest, with the most horses, realizes that they only have to worry about themselves, leaving everyone behind, and when they do need help, there will be no one around.

yeah everyone understands that socialism doesn't work in most situations but he's not trying to push socialism on anyone. He's only raised taxes on the upper 1% of the country, everyone else's went down(except for state taxes but he has no control over that). Regan was spreading the wealth more than obama is.

History has shown that raising taxes on the rich doesn't work. Why doesn't it work? The rich are the ones in most cases that add and provide the jobs for everyone else. By raising their taxes, it gives them less incentive and less funds to add jobs. Almost 50% of the workers here in the U.S. (47% to be exact) paid no federal income tax in 2009. How in the heck can you lower the taxes for those workers when they don't pay any?

For once I'd like to see a conversation about a politician - any politician of any party - not turn into a piss-fest of partisan bickering. Moving to the appropriate forum because people can't control themselves.... facepalm.gif

I don't think that will ever happen on the interwebz.

I just wanna say I absoultly HATE the new jerseys. There I said it. Why would we have to change? The stripes are smaller and look weak like Wisconsin. We moved the adidas logo for no apparent reason...and it looks worse. The Nebraska patch looks different too, no black border? WHY?

I know it seems weird to freak out about little details, but I am. I liked what we had and I stress the little details. I know theres other fans that dislike the changes and Im surprised no one has confronted this issue

Pretty sure that's a replica. Considering Kunalic is 190 lb, I doubt he'd be wearing an XL non-fitted jersey. Many replicas aren't exactly the same design as the official jersey. So I would take that picture with a grain of salt.

Are these the new Jerseys? If so I gotta say I like the old ones way better! The bottom red stripe on the sleeve is too wide and the Adidas logo is in the wrong place.

 Yes. They are the new Jerseys.. They have been selling them at all the husker authentic stores since February.

I think they're the new "replica" jerseys. Adidas has been getting cheap by using a screened patch and using smaller stripes for about the past two seasons. I'd be surprised if any other changes besides a moving of the adidas logo came to the game jerseys. Also, for that reason, I'm glad I got my authentic back in 2008. That thing is GREAT. :bonez

My aunt used to be a VP at North American Jaguar before she retired, and the percentage of taxes that she paid {net/gross} were less than mine.

Also I've seen reports that many corporations haven't paid their fair share if any at all. And of course we got those who set up offices in the Caymans so they don't have too.

But I digress, I guess some here would rather see a Husker jersey on saggy man boobs Dick Cheney.
