Street Novelist
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/news/story?id=5888109 The Big Ten announced Sunday that it will no longer actively pursue expansion after a 12-month study period. The league's Council of Presidents/Chancellors agreed at its winter meeting to end the expansion study, which was announced last December and scheduled for 12-to-18 months. The Big Ten added Nebraska as its 12th member on June 11, marking the league's first expansion in two decades. Quote Link to comment

BornRedCornFed
im pretty sure they'll start rethinking this when the SEC tries to expand again this summer. im just hoping that aTm grew a pair this season and leaves the conference killers, aka texas longhorns, behind Quote Link to comment

Nexus
The Big Ten still covets Notre Dame. Until then... Quote Link to comment
Parl Celini
Good, 12 teams is enough. I like having conference championship games. Except when you don't play well... Quote Link to comment
Malth
They say this now, but if (when lol) the Big 12 has its final meltdown, there's gonna be some teams for the taking and I'm sure they would at least consider expanding again. Quote Link to comment
JTrain
I wanna see the logo and division names. Apparently Feb. 1 is the new date. Quote Link to comment
husker_99
Makes sense. They would have to almost get rid of every rivalry if they kept expanding and since tradition is important to the Big Ten i expect they won't expand further. Quote Link to comment

They won't change the rule on 2 teams per conference in BCS bowls or change the computer formula to guarantee a 1 loss team with a hard schedule (e.g. SEC) will trump an unbeaten team in a non-AQ conference (e.g. Boise) for the NCG. Whole thing is setup as a cash machine to hit as many TV markets as possible rather than increasing competitive value. Quote Link to comment
Creed
Who would they add without watering down the league? Quote Link to comment
husker_hurdler
Last night on BCS Breakdown, James was going on about how the Boise State and Arkansas should join the BIG 12. Quote Link to comment
