Dark Horse Heisman Contenders for 2011

ESPN is trying to jinx Taylor. Remember what happened last season? Thanks to ESPN, his hype status went up after the oklahoma state game. After that he fell in a slump

No what happened was he started to play against good defenses that knew how to defend the zone read. and they figured out that he can't throw to save his life when he has pressure coming at him.

Missou had a decent defense. Until injury he totally tore them apart. Who knows how many points we score on Texas if our wrs don't drop balls all game long? Yeah, I know....who cares?....Tmart sucks!

A guy might think that after the Missou game with a bad ankle on one leg and turf toe on the other we might give our freshman qb a little slack. But nahhhh.......of course, this is HuskerBoard.

For me honestly, if guys would really watch the whole game and then a whole season, the person on this team that would best fit the original list of qualities the Heisman is supposed to be about is Rex. The things he does in all facets of the offensive game is amazing and a blast to watch. Things that probably lead to all the other players and coaches praising him as the ultimate team player.

However, as we have see the last 20 years or so the trophey is 90% sure to go to the "best player on the best team". It is a shame.

Rex is and probably always be the darkhorse. He is/was worth the hype. And he will only(with good health, fingers crossed) become SOOOOO much better.

Good stuff Paul, Rex has been nothing but a steady preformer for Nebraska since he stepped foot on campus. It's time he got some national recognition.

He'll need to start returning kicks (which there's been plenty of rumor of). 20 carries a game, 3-4 catchs and a few returns. He should easily be in contention after the OSU game when he goes off for 175 yards on their defense. Every Huskers' award stock either starts or ends with this game. It'll be hard to gain enough momentum if it's a bad loss, hard to stop the momentum if it's a big win.

They're looking for Crowell to bust out the gates as a young buck. I know he was the top pick at RB, ESPN has him at #4 overall but jumping the gun at Heisman as a fresh fish is pure hype.

TMart gets the START !

Thank you! I mean, they might as well have Clowney for Nagurski, Turner for All Conference, and Starling for AA QB and Pitcher.

The odds of correctly speculating on true freshmen is somewhere between winning the lottery and coming out ahead in blackjack.

He may never win the Hypsman, but he is the best Freshman QB Nebraska has ever had. And still the hate.

We hate the media when they knock us and we hate when they give us props, some of you need to take your dislike for Taylor and stuff it. He was the best we had last year, period, and most likely will be again this year. Deal with it, support the kid and the team.

I wouldnt call it hate at all. Taylor did some stuff last year that rubbed some in this fan base the wrong way. With a fan base like Nebraska's, there will always be support, but when you rub them the wrong way there will be a little questioning. He was young, and he will learn how to handle himself better with the spotlight directly on him. We support him, and support the team to the fullest. GBR!

Yeah, injury had nothing to do with it! Who cares that he torched Oklahoma State and had a better QB rating against them than any other Quarterback over the year.

Who really does care that torched Okie Lite, nobody. Why because Okie Lite was terrible on defense.

I will get on Tmart bandwagon when he is productive against a top 40 defense. Until then he is just an athlete playing QB.
