CornHunka
Milt Tenopir was on Huskers Illustrated radio on Friday talking offensive line. Here are some of the highlights: Milt likes the o-line this year. He talked highly of the way that Barney and Tim Beck worked together over the summer to set the offense. Milt believes that simplifying the offense will be big dividends this season, he even used the word 'dominant' several times. He likes Yoshi and Marcel Jones alot. He also said that Jake Long was working with the 1's and 2's, but I'm thinking that was due to injuries. He said that the offense will do less straight drop back passing, more two back backfields and less plays out of the shotgun. Quote Link to comment
BIG ERN
Our success will come down to playing to our strengths. We have a talented FB and 3 dynamic backs to go along with Burkhead and Martinez is a burner. I want to see more play action to our tight ends and new WRs. Quote Link to comment
Husker_x
If Milt ain't just blowing smoke, that's encouraging. Quote Link to comment
Enhance
This season just needs to get rolling already. Those are some encouraging words from Milt, but we still have a lot of young guys and a lot of injury problems already. It's an uneasy feeling. Quote Link to comment
HuskerT
I'll believe it when I see it. As much as I'd like to be confident in a Barney Cotton coached o-line, I just can't bring myself to do it. Quote Link to comment
okaive
All I seen out of that is someone actually likes Barney. Quote Link to comment
HuskersGJ
As much as I love and admire Milt, he was also very encouraging about the line play during the Callahan era. Quote Link to comment

RedDenver
As much as I love and admire Milt, he was also very encouraging about the line play during the Callahan era. Ouch!! To be fair, the OL play under Cally was better than it has been under Pelini. Hopefully that changes this year. Quote Link to comment

Not a bad coach, just a bad fit for college football. 1 Quote Link to comment
BigWillie
Pretty sure, you meant, or Milt meant, that Spencer Long (Jake's brother) is working with the 1's and 2's on the line at RG. And that's not because of injuries, Spencer has just been playing his butt off. Quote Link to comment
CornHunka
Yes, it's Spencer Long, thanks Quote Link to comment
