edit: ask for Grant. I still catch flack from my friends when knapplc came to our tailgate and asked for 'gmoose'

Did he introduce himself as The Pineapple?

I had not at that time been granted the title of The Pineapple.

I thought you were the Grand Pooba?

Maudy,

Drove your thru your neck of the woods today.

What are you doin up 'round these parts, Okie? Next time you're in Bartlesville, hit me with a PM and we can have a beer somewhere.

My wife is a huge Little House of the Prairie fan so I drove her up to the see the replica cabin south of Independence. I took her to see the one in Missouri a couple of years ago so the plan now is to take her to South Dakota and Minnesota next.

After game O-street is quite the scene. I dont care for it because it is SOOOOO packed and people are drunk.

Still worth it for a bit but i would suggest going to O street Friday night instead and then go out to eat somewhere random in lincoln away from DT.

27th has a ruby tuesday/apple bees that arent too busy usually or go to gateway at like 66th and O and have dinner there.

Guys,

My girlfriend and I just got our tickets to the opener last week! We're driving up from Oklahoma on Friday and staying two nights in Omaha. I've been to a handful of games before, but I've usually left right after the game. I'm going to be in Nebraska for a few days, so I'm wondering if you guys have any suggestions on where to go after the game? Bars? Restaurants? Or just anything to do in Lincoln? Also, anyone on here having a tailgate they wouldn't mind a couple of husker fans crashing?

In Omaha on Fridays we used to do Blues, Booze and BBQ often. I think its still open. The food was a bit better than average, but the Gumbo was fantastic and it was only on Friday nights. The bands weren't bad either. Or sit outside down town at the Up Stream, drink a micro brew and watch the people. Excellent food there. The Horseshoe Casino is a nice gambling hall if you like that. Its fancy now and not the dive it was when you lived in CB. Whiskey Road House always has a nice view of ladies in tight black leather.

Not sure how old you are but after the game the O street haunts are full of college kids, drunk puking frat boys and stupid girls trying to figure out if their outfit still looks good after being out in 100 degree weather all day. After the game I often hit one of the dive burger joints or bars down on the docks in the Hay Market smoke a cigar and drink a few beers while the traffic thins out. You'll either need to leave at the start of the 4th quarter or wait about an hour or two after the game to be able to drive back to Omaha without grid lock bumper to bumper traffic. You also can go wrong at Lazlo's down there if you want a good sandwich or steak while you wait for things to slow down some.

I would recommend going to the bars on O St. after the game. Depending on your age and what kind of environment you're looking for, I can give you some recommendations. For example, bars like the Brass Rail, Hours, and Iguana's Pub tend to grab the youngest, more party-focused drinkers (i.e. fresh off the bus 21-year-olds). Bars like The Watering Hole, Duffy's and Barrymore's tend to have the more relaxed drinkers just looking to hang out and drink. Not to say those bars aren't fun, but a place like Hours is definitely like a dance club.

Now, I don't rightfully know exactly what the bars are like right after Husker games, because I only turned 21 on November 30th of last year, days after the last home game against Colorado. I'm just going off of my experiences when I've gone down there on regular Friday or Saturday nights.

Also, Lazlo's is one of my favorite restaurants and there's one in the Haymarket. Furthermore, there is a Brewsky's Sports Bar down in the Haymarket which might be worth considering.

Oh damn, your way up there. A lot closer to the stadium then I am.

What Napp says about Omaha is true. I almost became lost because I tried using the same route as usual and didn't recognize where I was at the time. I have family in Bennington and used to travel thru omaha to get there to remember the old days. Not anymore.
