Glendower
Any Huskies fan has every right to be ticked off at those officials today. Those 'kick catch interference' calls that went against them were all horrid. Last one wouldn't have made a difference, but it was still the wrong call. On the bright side, even on no knees, Keith Price looked like a keeper. If today is any indication, that kid has a VERY bright future ahead of him. Very, very impressed with him today. Someone has probably pointed this out already, but I'm going to jump in, too, and say that while the punt recovery WAS total crap and that the huskies should have had that TD, the one on the onside was legitimate because the ball didn't hit the ground. Yes, it was live, but the recovering team gets a shot at it if it doesn't hit the ground first. Quote Link to comment
notgoodatmath
not total crap - the gunner touched marlowe before the ball got there, next Quote Link to comment
scarletNcream
No. Price is a beast. And Derek Carr - gotta say, I think Carr might be even better. Our secondary is a bit young, but the pass rush has been the bigger problem honestly. Washington fans should not be bitter. The Huskies were outclassed on the field, but man did they fight and claw their way to make something respectable out of what otherwise would have been a national drubbing and an embarrassing blowout. This team is going to do good things. Not replying to your post, but the whole outfit looked great at 1080, awesome. Quote Link to comment
PurpleReign
Congrats on the win. This game was painful, several key events that really altered the makeup of the game. Sucks big time. Good luck Huskers. 1 Quote Link to comment
Nhusker23
No amount of skill, passion, tactics, nor effort can overcome getting jobbed by the officials. We can only own our own mistakes, and our mistakes were not enough to lose the game. The INT thrown by Price in the red zone wasn't good, but no points came from that TO as our D stopped them. Obviously the fumbled kick off at our 1 yard line was killer, but also should not have been so bad had the bought and paid for refs not completely screwed us over. NE did enough to win this game on their own merits, but the momentum was decisively turned by the refs. The way we were rolling in the first half, that muffed punt was very likely 7 points and 3 for sure with Folk, so a at minimum a 6 point sway and in all likeliness, a 10 point sway. We take a 24-14 lead into the half, and this would have been a much different game. Then the 4th down we didn't convert inside the 20 would have been a FG for 3 points at least, if the game score was where it should have been. The way I see it, the refs cost us no less than 13 points, and that isn't counting the "ifs" like maybe we hold NE to a FG after the other 20 yards of bad call on the other botched interference penalty and Holt's justified outburst. What was the margin of victory? 13 damn points. What a travesty. Revised non-screwed over scoring: Half: 24-14 TD play off muffed punt 3rd Q: 24-21 TD off NE drive 24-28 off fumbled kick off Nebraska up, but still very much a game. And then we were also forced to oneside kick twice in which NE had easy drives starting from mid field. It would have been 24-17 at the half (possibly still 24-20 or 24-24 if Abdullah returned one to the house) since we had 17 points when we muffed the punt. That being said, the refs did not officiate the game well at all. But don't act like they only messed up calls for you. They missed a huge PI call on K. Bell and there holding on Crick and Meredith nearly every play. Quote Link to comment
Husker Drake
First Kick Catch Interference was questionable, the second was inconsequential, and the third was absolutely spot on, since the onside kick did not hit the ground first the kicking team has to allow the receiving team the chance to catch the ball. The coverage man jumped in front of our player, easy call. 1 Quote Link to comment

nowhereman
The whining coming from UW fans (and a few players) is getting silly. You didn't lose the game because of two bad calls. You lost the game because your team and coaches completely lost composure and focus after two bad calls. Nebraska took advantage of that and shoved it right down your GD throats. You can't control crappy officiating, but you CAN control how you react to it. How do I know this? Because Nebraska made the same mistake last year during the A&M debacle. Those were bad calls, but Bo lost his focus on managing the game and the team suffered as a result. Go to bed, Husky fans, and think about it tomorrow once the adrenaline wears off. It didn't happen that way. We've had things not go Ideal too. Why don't you ask us to show you some bad calls? Quote Link to comment
TJ Alum Husker
Man Price is a beast.. IMO he is better than Locker for your offense Yeah just like Derek Carr was a beast I could have stood back their and picked apart our secondary as they tripped and fell all over themselves ...... Fresno State > Washington disagree. This was the first game where we saw what our true offense was going to be. Washington's O-line won the line of scrimmage for most of the day. Agree that Price was better than advertised. He is going to be pretty special for Udub Quote Link to comment

Wow, made the mistake of stopping by the seattle times articles and read the comments. Then figured there must be just a sore group of fans there so I went by the pac 12 blog on espn. Nope, it's apparently true that the vast majority of Huskie fans think they were hosed out of this game.. The common logic being "if we get that 7 from the blown muffed punt it's a 6 point game and anything can happen".. Um, you do realize Nebraska packed it in when up by 27 in the 4th quarter right? That we shut the offense down and just tried to burn the clock. That our defensive scheme (according to Pelini) changed in the 4th and we tried (and failed) to force the Huskies to burn time off the clock.. That's the only reason this game ended up as close as it did. Nebraska could have kept its foot on the pedal (and should have) and never looked back. The idea that the 4th quarter would have played out as it did had Nebraska not been up by such a large amount is comical. We had taken over the game by that point. Quote Link to comment
