I don't know why we would expect Marrow to back off a guy he has connections with. Every single time we lose a coach there's a risk in this regard, of losing the commits that they secured. Marrow leaving is not exactly news. This staff had plenty of time to prepare for this, both to get on McWilson and to get backup plans. Quote Link to comment

Haspula Posted January 27, 2013 Share Posted January 27, 2013 You pretty much started this class since you were the first commit, a ton of ohio players on our roster, most of the coaches are from your high school, even your teammate is already enrolled at NU. Location should not be a factor considering both places are pretty far from Youngstown. 4 safaties are graduating from NU, 2 of which started the ENTIRE season. You would get LOTS of playing time at nebraska. All of this and you leave for a school bottom feeding in the SEC. Not bashing you at all, good luck at UK. Be mad at our coaches who couldnt hang on to a recruit after they commited here a year ago. Losing a kid to UK should put a huge spotlight on our coaches recruiting. It sucks, but the fault is directly on us for a) putting our sole relationship-building task with a big recruit on a grad assistant and b) when that grad assistant shows that he's a tremendous recruiting asset, we fail to hold onto him. If we offer Marrow a full-time spot, we have Beau Sandland and Marcus McWilson AND great recruiter for the future on our coaching staff. It's inexcusable. 6 Quote Link to comment
