Youngstown must have a decent defense, we have this guy and Love with offers from us. Wouldnt mind a package deal. Youngstown connections should go along way on both of these kids. And i believe Love was recently offered by OSU, so well need it.

I have to like our chances here. We have A LOT of Youngstown guys, whether it be players and staff. Love and McWilson aren't too far removed from Braylon Heard and Tim Marlowe. I'd bet we get the pair.

Minter, Dixon, and McWilson? Should be a big class this year, but do we want three safeties?

Yes. If we can get all three. Position of need.

I know its way to early to be talking really, but I feel like this could be a great class. We already have 6-7 kids (that I'm aware of) that seem to be really high on us.

It is early, NU the general feeling is this class has the potential to be monstrous. It also helps when about 20% or so are in-state/legacy recruits. This should allow the staff to focus more on elite out of state talent, imo.

Will make his college decision around signing week.

Will be attending Junior days at these Universities on these days: Ohio State on Feb 12, Michigan State on Feb 25, and Illinois on 26.

He has no favorites at this time

I just confirmed with four-star safety Marcus McWilson from Youngstown Cardinal Mooney that he committed to Nebraska. #Huskers -- Sean_Callahan (@Sean_Callahan)

Very good pick up for our secondary, welcome to Big Red nation Marcus you made a smart choice. Did not see this one coming, nice surprise.

HIm and his teammate Courtney Love have talked about playing together in college. Plus he fills a huge need we had in this class, a top flight HS safety.

Still hoping for Cravens. Could you imagine that secondary.

Welcome aboard!

Now you have the ability to swing for the fences on Cravens. You have one safety and one ath/safety/corner already verballed, both in the Rivals 250. Now go for the big guys!

Anything new with this kid??? Would be great if Bo could work the Mooney connection some more.

Seriously though this is a nice get for the staff.and should only bolster the chances with Love. As aspeed said they have talked about playing together but is in no way a given. I like the potential of Marcus, MMJr, and another safety. I think the Craven recruitment is going to be a nice wish, but if he ends up here, I will more than eat the crow and welcome him.

Raymond getting some sweet talent to work with!! :bigredn::throwdabones1::bonesflag::throwdabones1::bigredn:

...............

Will this change with his position coach leaving the school the day he commits, or is he pretty solid?

No kidding. I didn't find anywhere when Marcus said he was really close with Raymond. Being an Ohio kid Raymond probably wasn't his lead recruiter. Who knows at this point though.

Yeah; Papuchis is his recruiter.

glad we got him 2 commit and that papuchis was his recruiter and not raymond. Looks like raymond will most likely be taking tre;'vell dixon with him to lsu. Rumor has it he will offer dixon very soon after arriving at lsu. I like mcwilson better as a db anyway

I wonder how this may affect his teammate courtney love who has quite a few offers including a ohio state offer and nebraska offer. he would also be another very good get.

I'm glad he committed, but after reading his interview with rivals his commitment to us seems about as solid as coach Raymonds. I think the Cardinal Mooney ties help, but I think it'll just depend on who else offers him. If the right school offers him he could be good as gone.

This is how I feel. This is going be a recruitment until he tells others no. This is a concern of mine with early commits, and this is exactly why the coaches need to keep going after other DBs.

This is exaclty why you keep recruiting them even after they commit, keep them interested and keep shwoing them how much you want them.

Marcus just reiterated this more or less on a radio interview on 1480. Said mucho great things about Nebraska. HOWEVER, he said he verballed because of what offers he has to this point NU is the best offer. Again said he will listen to future schools, and would visit if the right schools came calling.

Like aspeed said, keep on him JP and hopefully after the Spring Game, the Mooney boys can help solidify this verbal a little more. The visit itself will help bolster the chances, but hearing things from guys he knows will only help.

I actually appreciate the kids honesty, at least he's not secretly waiting for better offers to come along.
