flatwaterfan
Sounds like a good hire. Would coach the guards and be a recruiter. Chin would coach the big guys & be recruiting coordinator as well as recruit. Would need a good bench coach/associate head coach. How about Donnie Marsh who was with Mike Davis?. Has experience at Indiana and is a good defensive coach. I think that would be a good fit as Miles is more of an offensive coach. (Howard would be my number 1 choice though) Quote Link to comment

flatwaterfan
I think Craig Smith will be the last hire as I don't know if CSU would pass us Eustachy. http://www.cbssports...e-about-opening http://www.csurams.c...th_craig00.html Looks like Neal as CSU coach. Should know about Smith by tomorrow I would think http://www.examiner.com/colorado-state-rams-in-fort-collins/source-csu-to-hire-former-unm-assistant-craig-neal-as-men-s-basketball-coach Quote Link to comment
Nexus
Sounds like CSU has hired former New Mexico assistant Craig Neal to be their next head coach. This likely means that Miles' will hire Craig Smith as the 3rd and final assistant here at Nebraska. He was waiting to see how the CSU situation would shake out before pursuing any other candidates. Craig Smith Bio EDIT: CBS Sports reporting that Ernie Kent might be the next coach at CSU. Quote Link to comment

That article you posted from the Examiner website about Neal says it was published today (April 10th), yet your time stamp from your post says April 4th. So you must've edited your post today adding the Neal announcement, no? Otherwise we've got some serious voodoo happening here at HB. Quote Link to comment
Nexus
LINCOLN — Erick Strickland, a Nebraska basketball Hall of Famer and a nine-year NBA veteran, is set to meet with new Husker coach Tim Miles on Wednesday to discuss a possible staff position. "I'm excited about it," Miles said Tuesday. Strickland, 38, is a former Bellevue West and Nebraska standout who now lives in Dallas. He told The World-Herald in early February about his desire to get into coaching, especially if it happened at NU. "I love Nebraska basketball, and I want it to be the best it can be," Strickland said at the time. Continue Reading Quote Link to comment

I added it to the bottom of my last post because it was the last one in the thread at the time. I didn't want it to appear that I was talking to myself by posting multiple times in a row.... So it's LE now! Talk about going through the rumor mill...first Neal, then Kent then back to LE. I think LE is the best of the bunch. I am thinking Smith will be on board soon. He fits our need for a bench coach/scout/game plan and it will be seamless fit. I think I would like to see Strickland on board. I think he could take the player development role. flatwaterfan
Since I got admonished for stacking posts together, I thought I would post this separately. Could be they weren't waiting on Smith. They may have been waiting on Howard.... Would that be the dream tream of b1g recruiting. Coleman,Howard&Johnson. Yikes! http://articles.chic...ive-coordinator Quote Link to comment
da skers
That would be a nice hire but I don't think its likely. If anything I imagine he'd follow Bruce. I think it will be one of two former CSU assistants but I think the Larry is also looking at possibly keeping one. I also think Smith is being considered at a lower level school as the head cheese. Sounds like there is a good chance Strickland maybe a GA of some type too which would be a good place for him to start. I'm shocked at the kids coming in this weekend. Having the #2 guy in the nation visit is no small task for NU. Quote Link to comment
