Paul in WI
Second Quarter Impressions:The zone-read MUST be Nebraska's bread & butter run play as long as Taylor Martinez is our QB. Congratulations to Taylor on becoming Nebraska's All-Time Leader in Career Total Yards. He has been scrutinized over his career, sometimes justified, other times not, however one thing cannot be understated...the young man never quits! Congratulations Taylor! The biggest thing holding Nebraska back over the past 5 years is undisciplined play and stupid penalties. This has to be the #1 focus to fix this offseason. You can clearly see that when our zone-read/power running game is working our offensive line loves it! It sets up the play-action passing game which they do a better job of blocking than they do at straight drop-back passing. Defense is starting to settle into this game. That's a positive sign. Things I would like to see in the 2nd half: Keep running the zone-read. Start establishing a power running game with Imani Cross on short yardage situations. With the receivers locked down on the outside, use the play-action passing game to get the TE's involved in the game down the middle of the field. Finally, keep Martinez involved in the running game until Michigan State proves they can stop it. +1 to you for your analysis. I think that you're spot-on on all accounts. This game is ours to win or lose. Quote Link to comment
lo country
Keep running the ball Martinez! Defense keep it up, let's get a goose egg for MSU in the 2nd half. Zone read and up tempo. Thorw in PA when they are leaning in. Blitz like our butts on fire and head is catching. Quote Link to comment

TripleOption
T-Mart's gonna keep punking these guys in the second half. Sparty's in trouble providing the Huskers can keep fom beating themselves... Quote Link to comment
CheeseHusker
I think we have a decided speed advantage.... I just hope Beck continues to use it. Hopefully as this game goes on, we'll be able to pound the lines. Got to stop with the mistakes. It can't be emphasized enough. Quote Link to comment

Need Cross and Jano in the short yardage to help out the O line. Hell Cross trips into the pile and gets 2. Quote Link to comment

Heard on the edge would be gone. Good vision to follow the blocks inside as well, Seems to run effortlessly. Quote Link to comment
CBolin69
Oh, I forgot to mention, a PASS RUSH would be nice in the 2nd half. All season long I have seen QBs just sit back and eat us alive, today is not much differnent. Quote Link to comment

Too many checks there on the drives when we were getting stopped. Quote Link to comment
