FOX to Televise Big Ten Championship Game

I hated the Fox broadcast of the game last year. Had the feel of a pro football broadcast. They don't do many college games and the quality level was well below the better ESPN-ABC broadcast teams.

 

I did enjoy Johnson's Gusgasm when Duckworth of Wisconsin caught the pass that led to the game winning TD, but that was close to the only high point of the broadcast.

 

Unfortunately, the BTN and Fox are intertwined so that as long as Fox wants it, they'll have the game and keep it away from ABC-ESPN.

 

 

The Championship game will be broadcast by whichever network wins the rights to Big Ten games come 2017. The only reason ESPN/ABC aren't broadcasting the game for now is because the Championship game wasn't included in the TV rights deal that was signed years ago between the Big Ten and ESPN/ABC. Any network had the rights to bid to air the championship game and Fox ended up winning the rights until 2016.

Sidenote: The Pac-12 CCG site absolutely killed the B1G.

with the B1G site you have to look hard to even find out who is playing.
