MichiganMan
SPREAD THE WORD Please sign the petition cliffs: mother died being hit by a car 5 years ago, police said they could keep the baby and raise it at the time. Neighbors friends saw the deer and called the DNR who took it away. https://www.change.o...michigan-family Quote Link to comment
NUance
Why would any person, or a state agency, possibly care if they keep a deer as a pet? Is there some health issue here? The asshats in the Michigan DNR should stick to efforts that actually help out the state. Instead of just annoying people. Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
It's illegal in Minnesota. Rules. Rules. Rules. Quote Link to comment

NUance
DNR = do not resusicate? Well, both DNRs loosely translate to "brain dead." Quote Link to comment
GSG
Why would anyone WANT a deer as a pet? I'm not saying they should or shouldn't be allowed to have one. I'm asking what a deer provides when compared to traditional house pets. Quote Link to comment

Bring you the newspaper or a beer? What does it do besides have that blank stare on it's face? Quote Link to comment

strigori
Sounds like it falls under the 'hoof stock' sort of laws preventing people from keeping cows and horses as 'pets' in the city, or any other farm animal or wild animal. There are all sorts of animals that you can not own in most city limits. Quote Link to comment
RedRedJarvisRedwine
This falls under the "eat what you grow" "reap what you sow" type deal. I'm sure ole Bambi gets a nice massage every night, especially the muscles that tend to get tough in deer. You can use him as a lawn mower and lawn fertilizer for now. Soon enough he will be invited in for dinner, for he will be the main course. This sh#t happens in the South all the time with less tasty critters! No biggie! Quote Link to comment

Every time someone tries to tell me how awesome their cat is, I think of the scene in "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell" where he's ripping the chick about having sh#t boxes in here house for her cat. He like to wrestle and play tug-o-war, but he was mostly just a hangout buddy. He liked his booze too. Quote Link to comment
