The Dude
I hoping this starts a trend of more anthologies. I'd like to see actors of Harrelson and McC's caliber in more TV series, but understand why they wouldn't want to commit 6 months every year to one project. Quote Link to comment
maskershake
I wish they would bring in David Duchovony and Gillian Anderson for a True Detective... Come on Hollywood make it happen Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
Just finished the 4th episode. Holy sh#t this show is intense from start to finish. Quote Link to comment
Thanks_Tom RR
Wife turned it in. Binge watching it right now. So good. Quote Link to comment
Thanks_Tom RR
Just watched all of Season 1 in two days. Awesome show. Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
I have 2 episodes left. I may re-watch it once I'm done Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
Just watched the final episode. I have to say I was a little disappointed. I think they just wrapped up everything a little to quick for me. Plus they never got into the family dynamic of the killer very well. Still a great show and I hope HBO signs on for another season Quote Link to comment

I think they just wrapped up everything a little to quick for me. Plus they never got into the family dynamic of the killer very well. My first reaction was similar but after thinking about it more I think that the ending fit the show perfectly. How many times was there some variation of "nothing is ever solved!" from Rust? Also, it felt a lot more realistic that all of the ends weren't tied up with pretty bow . . . and of course the people in high places escape responsibility. Maddening, sure, but also unsurprising. I wanted more. I wanted a grand takedown of the entire group. I wanted justice. Instead we were hit with a dose of reality. In the end, I think that was better. Quote Link to comment

I just felt that the last episode moved too fast. I mean, Marty looks at a picture of a green house and then all of a sudden they are chasing the guy through Carcosa. I thought maybe it needed another 1-2 episodes to develop the ending. And the very end where Marty is talking to Rust about the stars was kind of dumb. But it was still very gripping and had me on the edge the whole time. Just ended too quickly. Quote Link to comment

I agree that the should have strung it out a little more. It felt like the show was slowly building for 7 episodes . . . and then 2-3 episodes worth of story were wrapped up in one episode. I kind of agree with you about Rust and the stars. I liked it but it was also the closest thing to a cheesy moment that I saw in TD. I just don't know if I can fully believe that Rust could undergo that kind of transformation because that's basically the only optimistic thing that he said throughout the series. Haha. NUance
**BUMP** Wow, the end of second season episode 2. Just wow. Ray (Colin Farrell) was like the main character. And some guy in a raven mask blasts Ray in the chest with a shotgun? WTF?? Gotta say, Detective Ani isn't exactly a raving beauty or anything. But there's something about her that's HOT! (Rachel McAdams) 1 Quote Link to comment

The Dude
Not gonna lie, the story in season 2 has me pretty confused so far. Most of the time I don't even know what they're talking about. Quote Link to comment
