StPaulHusker
I don't believe tanking or losing is in any way acceptable to them. This is just a disaster so far. But, you never know. They could still be hoisting the AFC championship trophy at year's end -- there's so much that changes week to week. Right now though, it's ugly. That has to be the first time Brady was ever benched during a game where New England wasn't winning big. I didn't mean to insinuate that anyone is tanking. Maybe more not emphasizing winning so much. zoogs
Yeah, I get that. And I know Belichick has this reputation for thinking of all the angles and everything, but I think they are far too competitive to tolerate a philosophy like that. Besides, winning is a culture. Once lost, it's not so easily regained. The Patriots have always been about "perpetuating the franchise" over loading up for a current run, though -- i.e, trading or cutting Ty Law, Richard Seymour, etc. It's just never blown up in their faces. Even when they lost 31-0 to the Bills in the 2003 home opener after Law switched teams, they eventually came back and won the Super Bowl. This year has a different feel to it. Stunningly bad so far. All good things must come to an end. Strange fact about Super Bowls. 11 of the last 13 Super Bowls played, at least one starting QB was named Brady, Manning, or Roethlisberger. Quote Link to comment
HuskerCarter
Broncos fans start petition to ban CBS' Phil Simms from Broncos broadcasts This and the Denver media's obsession with Richard Sherman is just weird and funny. If this is successful, we should take one out for Ed Cunningham. Quote Link to comment
