The Nebraskan Assassin
So often I hear Nebraska fans use the "geographically disadvantaged" excuse. Starkville and Oxford are just two more examples of places where kids are willing to go, due to the respective programs having excellent coaches and recruiters. 3 Quote Link to comment

Mavric
Apparently attempts to discredit "geographically disadvantaged" excuse. Gives two examples of programs who have a huge geographic advantage. 6 Quote Link to comment
Kernal
Ok so... what do Starkville and Oxford have that Lincoln doesn't? Teams with one fewer loss... so far. Quote Link to comment
The Nebraskan Assassin
If you think Oxford or Starkville have anything even remotely close to what's available in Lincoln, you are sadly mistaken. Mississippi is no hotbed of talent, either. Quote Link to comment

Nebraska? Quote Link to comment

Kernal
Nebraska was ranked #5 after five games in 2010. Being highly ranked early in the season isn't that difficult. Let's see where they're ranked at the end. My guess is quite a bit down the ladder. Quote Link to comment
The Nebraskan Assassin
[if you think what's available to do in a town anywhere close to being the biggest advantage in location, you are sadly mistaken.] I certainly don't, but that's the excuse I've heard for years from the mouths of Nebraska fans. "Oh, there's nothing to do here" "It's too cold" etc. Quote Link to comment
NUpolo8
What's funny is this.... These same disadvantages existed six years ago, and our facilities were worse The previous coach landed classes that embarrass Bo's 6 Quote Link to comment

That's the ONLY reason why they might not finish high in the polls. If we had their schedule we'd finish with a losing record. Quote Link to comment

Mississippi is no hotbed of talent, either. This is an absurd claim. MS consistently ranks in the top 5 (if not 3) highest per-capita D-1 football player producing states. Quote Link to comment

That's the problem with early polls. 1 Quote Link to comment
The Nebraskan Assassin
You put a guy like Nick Saban in Lincoln, and guys would flock there to play for him. Location has nothing to do with it. 4 Quote Link to comment

I am willing to wager that both LSU and A&M finish higher than Nebraska in the final polls. Quote Link to comment
