lo country
Dak appears to have been a 3* recruit. Mississippi kid. Quote Link to comment

Keep telling yourself that......there's a reason coaches like N Saban or U Meyer have very specific schools they will coach. Notice Saban's off season flirting was with Texas, not Nebraska or Alaska. 1 Quote Link to comment

He became a championship coach after getting to the south. It's easy to say with name recognition that he could recruit in a more difficult place now, but his recruiting classes at MSU weren't nearly as good. And Michigan has more than 5 times the population (and a much higher population in surrounding states) than Nebraska. 1 Quote Link to comment
dylan
Yeah, it's weird how much better of a coach and recruiter saban became when he went to a dirty program in a talent rich region. 1 Quote Link to comment
The Nebraskan Assassin
Hmm, from what I remember, Tuscaloosa was in shambles when Saban arrived, as was LSU. Quote Link to comment
dylan
And yet they've always had talented players and boosters willing to buy them. Quote Link to comment
The Nebraskan Assassin
Doesn't matter where it took place. Bottom line is, he's an established commodity now, and no matter where he goes, recruits will follow. Quote Link to comment
The Nebraskan Assassin
Damn, you guys are just full of one excuse after another. Strange how all of this buying of players is taking place yet the NCAA knows nothing about it. Quote Link to comment

Except you'll never get to test this theory. He ain't goin' anywhere the recruits ain't. Quote Link to comment
The Nebraskan Assassin
I love how any program who is more successful than Nebraska is "dirty" lol Quote Link to comment

Which is exactly why saying "If Saban were here, he'd get recruits" is useless to the discussion. Unless he comes here - and he wouldn't go to Texas for $10M per - let's just stick to reality. dylan
That's an inane statement since he's not going anywhere after that much success and if he for some reason did it wouldn't be to a more challenging recruiting situation. Comparing NU recruiting to cheating schools in talent rich regions is pointless. Unless you are one that thinks NU can or should try the same tactics. Quote Link to comment
The Nebraskan Assassin
Saban is just an example. There are plenty of other great coaches out there. Quote Link to comment
