Have you seen me?

Right. Without RBBC, that question will always be there -- unless the one man is Ameer.

So, my proposal would be to work in those other two a little more. Of course, going against this is NU is not that run-heavy and they want enough to keep their top back in rhythm.

The decision to take that one out of the endzone was pretty bad. And I'm open to changing my view of Newby's play to a harsher one...it'll just take some more time. Right now all I've got is "Okay, so he's not Ameer."

Newby isn't that poor. Possibly Wilbon is quite similar (flashes, but needs more experience. Maybe he's more athletic, but on the other hand less polished) and he would get chances if they wanted more committee look.

I would like to see some Wilbon/Ozigbo going forward, though. Just to spell Newby. If Newby goes down we want the next guy to have some more experience. Cross has that but might not be the right #1 runner. Seems more of a specialist.

He's bad, zoogs. Inexplicably bad. Like, "give Rudy a chance to get in the game for one snap" bad. I implore anyone who has any doubts to re-watch the game and watch only him on offense.

He is constantly on the ground. Several times after a run fake, he would go to "block" and would run into the backside of one of our linemen and fall down. On that kick return he took out of the end zone (poor decision), he took the ball out 10 yards then simply slumped to the ground seemingly without any contact almost like a QB sliding before getting hit. I'm not sure I've seen him break contact a single time. Indeed, in this game alone, I saw him get taken down by single-arm tackles at least twice.

When he runs, he tries to stretch almost everything to the sidelines, never daring to cut and head upfield. Eventually, a defender will chase him down from behind and tackle him for no or little gain. Don't even get me started on that play where he was running with a blocker in front and instead of heading to open field, he ran straight into his own blocker and fell to the ground.

The only time he picks up any yards is when he gets a good push from the offensive line and gets upfield for a quick 5-6 yards, or things are well blocked to the outside and he can break an off-tackle run for 10-15 yards. But literally all of his yards are in wide open space with not only no contact, but no defender anywhere near him.

If I seem obsessed with him, it's because I cannot believe that a coaching staff like this is blind to how ineffective he is as a player.

Yep. He's bad. I cannot think of ANY starting Husker back in the past who he is better than. If Wilbon is worse (I doubt it) better get the never seen #4 back out there or heal up the freshman and get him in when he's healthy.

This all seems awfully similar to Hujan pining for Brion Carnes to replace Taylor Martinez based on . . . not much.

Based on Martinez being a huge turnover machine. No player epitomized Pelini's era here more than him: Glitzy stats, but hugely mistake prone and not enough substance to escape mediocrity.

If wanting to see what other players can offer when the starter clearly isn't getting it done is "wrong" then I don't want to be right.

For the record, I said the same sh#t about Sam Keller. That turned out to be rather prescient.

Wilbon is a terrible blocker and that is why he is riding the pine, Don't want to get Tommy killed.

I don't think people are paying enough attention to this. I don't like the way Newby is running right now but I noticed multiple times today where he picked up his assignment in pass pro and did it great.

I would have to guess that is a huge priority for this staff

Newby showcased his problems pretty well on one play in particular today. I can't remember when it happened, but it was an outside run and he had a blocker. He had the chance to either make a quick cut up field for a decent gain or go outside. Instead, he hesitated, didn't make a decision and got hit for no gain. He just doesn't commit like you'd want a back to commit. He doesn't hit the hole very hard and I've noticed he slumps, as well.

I don't know what's happend with Wilbon or any of the other backs but I still maintain what I said earlier in this thread - if he's not playing then there's a reason, whatever it may be.
