BigRedBuster
"Do you come to this conclusion because he is not from Nebraska? You might remember that "True Nebraskans" were responsible for the last fifteen years of our football program: Frank Solich, Steve Pedersen (AD), Tom Osborne (AD)." This comment rankled me to no end, it reveals his true nature. He blames the past 15 years of our football struggles on true Nebraskans, the two of which are people he hired, and one a coach that was wrongly fired by the mentally unstable AD he hired. He arrogantly refuses to take responsibility for his decisions and then proceeds to shove them on someone else, he's a slimy weasel. He'd fit in perfectly in Washington DC. Ummm....no. You totally missed his point. His point is that the author of the email is obviously very upset with the state of Husker football and thinks Nebraska needs "True Nebraskans". Well, we have had "True Nebraskans" in the program and the idiot still isn't happy. Quote Link to comment
SWAMI
Why does anyone think it's appropriate? I guaran-goddam-tee you that none of those people are donors that the university couldn't replace, therefore their opinions are invalid.Yea,, why should anyone express displeasure in a below average product? Just sit there and take it.But it's nice to know that the opinions of the fans ( many of whom are alumni) aren't wanted. Instead, maybe we should just end the sellout streak. Why should anyone give a coach more than 9 games before deciding whether to fire him, the athletic director, and the chancellor????!!!oneone I could have swore that Riley had years of experience. At least that's what we were led to believe. He does and it was on full display last Saturday nite 4 and 6....... Hip, hip, hooray. Now maybe he can figure out how to not get blown out by the worst team in the league. I know how. By being the worst team in the league. 1 Quote Link to comment
cheekygeek
Could have definitely been worse. Interesting he replied to one of them and basically asked the guy who else would've been interested in coming here. . EXTREME negative thinking at the very top of our program. That explains everything. "basically asked the guy" What was the exact quote? Because the way that is portrayed is VERY surprising/disappointing for a university President. U of N's reputation has certainly slipped from its glory days, but with its resources, this should still be a place where the Cornhuskers are firmly ensconced in the Top 20 all season long. What does that say to future recruiting (of players and coaches)? If he was going to leave out some emails from the reply to SBNation, the one containing THAT sentiment should have certainly been one of them. 1 Quote Link to comment
TheSker
The emails are just another channel for those Husker fans who choose to do so to "voice" their displeasure with the product Riley is producing. 1 Quote Link to comment
Redreign22
Do people honestly feel better about themselves after shooting off emails like this? A little bit ya. Next week I am emailing the sound guy to add some Pantera to the playlist. I might email the hot chocolate guy about marshmallows while I am at it. Quote Link to comment

Folks like you and I spend time on a site such as this, so I guess you can judge the lives of your fellow fans however you choose. And the subject is relative to how the "chorus" believes and feels about something very passionate in their lives.....Husker football. 1 Quote Link to comment

No, a childish hissy fit is putting people on ignore or calling for posters to be banned because you disagree with their opinion. Voicing your displeasure is our right. Quote Link to comment

As it is.....not so much. Every time someone voices displeasure with the current state of the program, they get shouted down by those who are seemingly gleeful about it. I'll agree though, we May not be the laughing stock, we are officially irrelevant. No where on the national landscape, except for the bookies. Quote Link to comment
