NUance
That would be tough to stop. I mean, how many teams account for the QB outside the tackles? 1 Quote Link to comment
Omaha-Husker
That play made me think of our triple option against Michigan a few years back. Maybe it is the way they cut to the other coach and they are clearly thinking, well hell. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--Z13x6kvSM 1 Quote Link to comment
huKSer
Ha - both of the plays went against Meechicken! 1 Quote Link to comment
Notre Dame Joe
Once again I wonder what the old Jan 1st could be . . . Rose: Stanford vs Mich St. Orange: Okla vs Clemson. Big8 champ gets the Orange Bowl and they invite the nearest and highest ranked free team. Cotton: UH vs Ole Miss. UH wins a theoretical SWC assuming their games played like Oklahoma's. There is no easy way to figure out the #2 teams but I think the Cotton favored southerners. Sugar: Bama vs ND. We pick the toughest opponent we can get and this is it. Fiesta. anOSU vs TCU. Strictly business decisions. TCU is a good grab as they are a day's drive away. Peach: Iowa vs FSU. I believe they had an ACC tie in at some point. This is the first year that I would say without hesitation that the old bowl system was better. This is because I had to fictionalize so much. For example it's basically fan fic to say that UH has the same record in the SWC if TCU/TTech/Baylor play as they do today. Still it might be about equal to what we will actually have. Ummm....no With hindsight I can change my mind again and say that the old bowl system would have been far superior. The Rose Bowl suffered taking a #2 team that had not played anyone. The Sugar Bowl was unwatchable. The playoff matchup couldn't be helped even though it's clear that Ohio State-Bama would have been a better game. Quote Link to comment
