ScottyIce
Sounds like he is going big. Louisville OC is apparently hired. Pretty funny how that turned out. He tells Dez that Nebraska is in worst division in CFB so don't go there and then he heads to it. 3 Quote Link to comment

So there's that. 2 Quote Link to comment
Decked
I still think this is overblown. I don't see him doing much at Illinois. Too much influence from SEC, Michigan, and OSU to get good enough recruits. Quote Link to comment
ScottyIce
I'll say this, he will do better than the last guy, the guy before him and the guy before him... Quote Link to comment
I AM FOOT FOOT
yep this is a huge hire for Illinois.way bigger than what Nebraska got. Quote Link to comment
Michiganball
He definitely has good experience and may be a very good hire. He may not get the best recruits, but look at MSU, rebuilt with underrated and what were considered medium caliber players. He had a tough time in Tampa though, but rebuilding a pro franchise is a lot more complicated especially having to deal with lot's of ego's and politics. Looking forward to seeing what happens in the B1G West next year. 1 Quote Link to comment

And there's a much bigger potential for doing well there. Lots of regional talent, and Lovie should go over well with the kids that view CFB as a mere stepping stone to the NFL. I don't expect anything right away...but don't be shocked if they start to pull 9-win seasons out in a couple of years and shoot up like Minny did under Kill. Quote Link to comment
nic
The west would benefit from a 9 win Illini team. Even an Illini team that can win its out of conference games. Quote Link to comment
