"But they won't"?

They will take as many as they can, minus the walk-ons they plan on putting on scholarship, pretty obvious math there.

I'm wondering if they are going to hold on to a few and use them on senior walk ons for a year or 2 because our redshirt freshman class only has 10-11 scholarship players in it once Gebbia comes off in December and if Guy Thomas ends up transferring.

I'm far from a recruiting numbers guy so I don't know exactly how it works but I remember Pelini getting into trouble a year or 2 by taking a huge class one year and then not many in following years.

Yes- I would assume it makes sense to take a nice size class this year. Then let some of those numbers float to next year to have another nice class. Spread the numbers out a bit. Unless you can hit on some studs. But dont just fill the class because. I would rather have more room for a stud next year.

Taking 30 in one class won't automatically make you off balance.  Taking 30 in your class with no shedding of dead weight will though.

If we take 30 in this class, then we have a number leave again by next year, it would work it's self out.  And...help speed up the turnover of the roster for Frost to succeed.

You take max # of dudes in this class. Walk-ons & Scholarship guys.

Obviously a couple scholarships are earmarked for guys like Warner, Vedral(if he hasn't got it yet), and others.

Vedral is on scholarship.  I think Warner needs to prove more before he gets one.  Passing a JUCO 1st year player on the depth chart doesn't mean he's a great player yet.
