I think this is some interesting insight into clock management situations that don't make sense on the surface. Before the half, the Pats had a 1st down and could have clocked it rather than let 15 seconds run off the clock, take a shot at the endzone (nearly worked!), and then only leave enough time for a FG with 6 seconds to go and a TO on the board still.

Sort of like the end of the Super Bowl where it was a little hard to see why they wouldn't take a timeout at the goalline, the answer came down to they thought they had a better chance not giving everyone on both teams a time to reset. But also that things were happening quickly and they could've done better perhaps.

I think clock management issues are such a iffy, hingsight deal. obviously theres a lot that goes into particular decisions, and it's not even nearly as cut and dried as many perceive it to be. So when a decision works out, great. When it doesnt, bad clock managment, when in all actuality, it was just a wrong decision that had nothing to do with clock management ability.

Matt Barkley has done a pretty good job since he's been the starter for the Bears. 316 yards and 3 td's in his first start against the Titans last week. I'm hopeful for him and for the team. The Bears might actually muster their 3rd win of the season today and first with Barkley at QB. It's snowing and really beautiful in Chicago today. Fun game to watch.
