redout22
I've been a fan of him ever since he won back-to-back heisman's in my dynasty mode in ncaa '14. He, and the whole team worked their bums off in the final Q. 1 Quote Link to comment
Mavric
He, and the whole team worked their bums off in the final Q. Definitely gotta hand it to a patch-work offensive line taking it two a pretty stout DL. Quote Link to comment
admo
Did you notice there wasn't any hesitation from the time he took a handoff? Ran hard and fast as soon as the ball was snapped, play after play. Quote Link to comment
Danny Bateman
Newby finally got his confidence up and got in the zone. This man had better have gotten a game ball today. He absolutely earned it. Good to finally see him have a breakout game. He's earned his moment in the spotlight. 2 Quote Link to comment
chamrocck
With the way the game was going, we needed someone to show up big and Terrell did today. 1 Quote Link to comment
Huskinator
I've been hard on him for a few years now, he showed me up today. Everyone else goes down and all the pressures on his shoulders ...... and this is what he produces. Bravo good sir! Well played and I am proud of you. Keep up the good work newby. Bowfin
This man had better have gotten a game ball today. He absolutely earned it. I would give it to the offensive line and the guys blocking on the perimeter. We had some absolutely fantastic blocking all year from the receivers. Newby made the most of the holes, but somebody had to make those holes. Quote Link to comment
Bowfin
But let's not take away from Newby here either. He was playing at another level. He got worked that second half, that's for sure. He also showed that he could switch from a plow horse to a thoroughbred in about three steps. Quote Link to comment
The Dude
He had himself one hell of a game. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Also, I didn't pick up on this live but rewatching the game I noticed that part of the reason we were able to run the ball so well in the forth quarter was because we were working to get to the outside more rather than just running straight ahead. According to Huskers.com, of Newby's fourth quarter carries, seven of them were "up middle" for 28 yards and 8 of the carries were to the outside for 84 yards. He also caught a swing pass for 21 yards so when we got him to the outside he gained 105 yards on 9 touches. Obviously one 63 yards gain boosts the average but Newby has the speed and quickness to get big chunks like that. He just hasn't had many chances to do it. Quote Link to comment
