Yep. Maybe we should rename this thread and start another one about the economy.

And one of the hardest things I've ever witnessed in my life was my sister-in-law losing a fortune this way after her husband died. She discovered the stock market when she inherited his portfolio during the bull market and channeled her grief into day-trading.

I'll check my stocks very regularly.  But, it's just because I find it interesting.  I very seldom sell once I buy a stock.

Day trading, when it first started, was the wild wild west.  Totally insane stories about that time especially with DotComs.

Yeah, that is kind of like me.  I have the website up and open on my laptop and I will check it during the day.  As far as trades, when they were not free I bet I made 3-4 trades per year.  Plus this is not like the old days when you had to wait for the newspaper to look at the stocks.  It literally takes 10 seconds to look.

Now that they are free it is probably 5-10 a month, maybe more.

I have really got into options so for those I have to watch more since they expire.

I have 3 accounts that I basically never check, maybe 2 times a year.

Then I have one account that I created to see how I could do on my own.  Knock on wood, it has been great the last year as I have become more active with trading.  I am more than happy to make small gains.

Like SOUNW the other day.  I made 200 dollars in like two day and dumped.

With that said I lost like 390 on a SMCI call in 30 minutes about 6 weeks ago.

I don't feel that every investment has to be "long term" for it to be smart.  GL, in a month of holding it, is going to be a huge gainer for me.  I will probably be done with it tomorrow or into next week.

A long term buy and hold stock that doesn’t get talked about much is CAVA.   It’s gonna have a similar (just slightly smaller) stock growth as Chipotle.

Man, Chipotle is so strong.  I never would have guessed it years ago.

Lots of analysts think this is the next good food stock.  I’m doing very well so far with it and plan to just keeping slowly adding to the position over time.  Dollar cost average it

Might as well.  It seems to be doing well despite the fact that it is getting more and more expensive because of paying a HS kid 20 dollars an hour to work the register.

Ha. Ya no kidding.  I gave my 16 yr old $20 to get Taco Bell because we were all out and about during dinner time and he gives me back $2.86!!  I’m like what’s with this change, did you go to Ruth’s Chris instead??

I don't think you can get out of Chipotle for less than 14 dollars now, for a bowl.
