This year they are smashing it !!!! People don't realize that Wake is in North Carolina (athletes and loads of talent) and it's a beautiful campus. I cannot wait for them to make it the CWS in Omaha - they on the right track for sure I hope they can make it to the CWS this year too and while short series baseball is always unpredictable, I'd be pretty surprised if they didn't make it. Unless something unforeseen happens, they are a lock for a top 4 national seed. Quote Link to comment
Loebarth
Home Runs are great but good starting pitching, a deep bullpen, the ability to advance runners, steal bases, hit with runners in scoring position, those are the things that win ball games. Hit 100 home runs and do nothing else good and see where that gets you. Think it's time for bolt to either replace coaches or move on. This teams performances are at best pathetic. 3 Quote Link to comment

Homers and extra base hits were at an all-time low, including scoring, and boring low scoring games (CWS too) that they change the baseball to a flat-seamed ball that carries better (2015). This team is totally smashing the ball over the fence. Still need better pitching performance (whoever takes the mound - from starters to bullpen relief) and put more balls in play with runners in scoring position. With this type of power at the plate, this team could be a top 20 team without question. Pitching is not very solid to say the least. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
We are giving up 7.8 runs per game over our last 12 games. We had a shutout in there. 1 Quote Link to comment

Jeff Christy was a poor hire from the jump as pitching coach, said this from the beginning. Rest of the areas are sound, but pitching should be a strength going into this season. Instead, it’s invalidated the excellent offense and good defense we’ve been playing. Firing Bolt isn’t the answer—just replace Christy with a competent pitching coach and we’re Top 25 easily with this offense and defense. 1 Quote Link to comment
admo
We have 2 All-American candidates on this year's team (Although I firmly believe they are without question) Brice Matthews & Max Anderson Here are they are among NCAA stat rankings as of 5/10/23 B.Matthews (wow) Runs - rank 38th - but 14th among players on P5 teams (and just 6 runs away from being in top 10. RBI - rank 19th - but 8th among players on P5 teams (and just 4 ribbies away from being in top 10. Home runs - rank 16th - but 11th among players on P5 teams Batting Avg - rank 56th - but ranked 17th among players on P5 teams Stolen Bases - rank 89th - but 15th among players on P5 teams Total Bases - rank 12th - but 10th among players on P5 teams OnBase % - rank 45th - but 18th among players on P5 teams Walks/BaseOnBalls - ranks 60th - but 27th among players on P5 teams Slugging % - ranks 18th - but 9th among players on P5 teams Hits - ranks 50th - but 20th among players on P5 teams Also amazing is Max Anderson (just didn't have time to do in depth) but he is also up there among P5 leaders (top 20ish) ... Total Bases (4th), Batting AVG (9th), Home Runs (11th), RBI, Slugging %, Hits (3rd) - among players on P5 teams. Quote Link to comment
Xmas32
Hey @Loebarth(or anyone else) do you happen to remember why Braxton Bragg ended up transferring? It seems a tad odd that he couldn't find a spot in the starting rotation at Nebraska yet he's the Saturday guy at Dallas Baptist..a perennial baseball powerhouse. Quote Link to comment
