Explain how Stafford's late hit out of bounds comes from coaching.
  2. It was only a "tackle" in that Bell tripped over him after he ran over him. However, it was a nice job filling hard. Just deliver the shot next time.
  3. As for the call, as it happened I thought Bell's arm got held. On the slow-mo replay it appeared that he might have been in good position. It's a very tough call to make but with that much contact it's almost always going to draw a flag on the defense.
  4. Yes, it was PI. He tried to box out Bell. Even if he did have his head turned to see the ball (which he did) that's PI. Much more than any of the 3 against us. I'll have to disagree on this. Having your off hand wrapped around a guy's waist before the ball gets there is clearly PI. I honestly think there might be a problem with the technique they're teaching the DBs. Having your head turn towards the ball and reaching for the ball, not trying to hold the guy's hands down is a very, very iffy call. I thought it was a terrible call, but personally was okay with it not because I'm a Husker fan, but because it was countered the completely BS late hit penalty on Stafford. That gave MSU an additional 4 points. Even without the PI call that went our way if it wasn't for that call, we would have been winning the game anyway. You're SUPPOSED to have your off hand wrapped so that way if the receiver catches the ball, the DB can still make the tackle. The DB just can't put any kind of force on the receiver when he does it. If he does, then it's PI. The one against Ciante was questionable, but the other 2 IMO were BS calls. Correct. This is the technique as it's taught. You are supposed to time it better because you can't do it before the ball gets there but one hand tries to knock the ball away while the other makes the tackle.
  5. Let's recap: 28 points against a defense averaging 15 473 yards against a defense giving up 267 313 yards rushing against a defense giving up 91 Averaged 7.8 yards per rush against a defense giving up 3.0 Still ran the ball 40 times vs. throwing it 36 times despite not having a lead until :05 left in the game Exactly what part of this production would anyone say is the fault of the OC?
  6. Already 5 runs of over 10 yards. Can we please stop shooting ourselves in the foot??
  7. Colorado is improving. Last week it only took them 2:32 to get down by 14. Today it was into the 2nd quarter.

  8. People have been known to get a vacation from the board for such things. For going rogue in the prayer or for drawing and quartering people?
  9. Minny not getting any help from the refs but they do realize you have to cover receivers more than 15 yards down the field, right?
  10. I'd love for Rex to be out there but I'm just not sure. I'm afraid he'll be OK for a bit until he gets twisted or cuts hard on the knee and then he'll be out again. He'll keep recovering for a couple weeks then getting hurt again and he'll never really be healthy. I really think we should just rest him and hope he's ready for the bowl game.
  11. Pretty sure they weren't as good as their ranking. They started 7-0 but their "best" win is over 3-5 Tennessee.
  12. He apparently started to warm up but it was decided he couldn't go.
  13. Finished the season 7-3 after a first-round playoff loss.
  14. Finished the regular season with 14 catches for 218 yards and 3 TDs. Also had 46 tackles and an INT on defense. Alter went 8-1.
  15. Was in town for the Michigan game. Spent quite a bit of time with Randy Gregory. Hopefully that was the start of a lot of good work together.
  16. Visited last weekend and liked it (big surprise). Sounds like Alabama is still keeping in touch and he'd be gone given the chance be we look good other than that.
  17. From what I can find, we were 3.5-4.0 point favorites.
  18. The Huskers are 6-0 all time against MSU by a combined score of 205-37. No reason that should change today.
  19. Couldn't agree more! Don't know how many times I've yelled this at my TV over the past two years. MAKE them show you they can beat you over the top a couple times before you really get back there. Don't let them complete a short pass and then run for 30 yards because everyone is 50 yards downfield. Hopefully things keep heading the direction they've been over the last couple games.
  20. I see our last five games (starting last week) getting easier as we go. I really wasn't that hopeful last week against Michigan but said before the game that if we could find a way to win that one, we would have every chance to win the last four. Similar situation now - I think this looks to be the toughest game remaining on our schedule. Take care of business and the rest of the schedule is there to be had.
  21. I wonder where it would end up now - considering the core of that ranking is not on the roster. Ryan Klachko, Tyler Moore, Aaron Green, Bubba Starling (and Stafford/Carter are gone after this year). I noticed that as well. Really only Stafford will end up being a major contributor. Ouch. Not entirely. Jamal Turner, Zach Sterup, David Santos, Ryne Reeves, Todd Peat, and Charles Jackson were 4 star recruits from that class. Jamal, David and Charles have seen a good amount of time on the field and have bright futures at Nebraska. Zach and Ryne will probably get more looks at rotating in next year. Todd Peat, well his future remains uncertain. I meant that was a pretty good list of players that kchusker_chris ticked off and only Stafford will end up contributing much. Didn't mean to imply that no one else in the class would contribute because they obviously will.
  22. I think it's pretty obvious that Romney will have to pick up Ohio and one of those three states to win - most likely Colorado, although he seems to have some chance in New Hampshire as well which would also be enough (barely). Doesn't really seem to be any other way he can win.
