I do not like this playoff at all. Just 4 teams is a joke if you are going to do a playoff, and selection by committee is how they are going to slip the corruption in with ease. That committee will no doubt be filled with ESPN's people lobbying for whatever team gets the highest ratings. Make it a 16 team playoff with the 11 conference champions and 5 at large teams.

Past 5 years. 2011: 1 team with 0 losses, 4 teams with 1 loss 2010: 3 teams with 0 losses, 5 teams with 1 loss 2009: 5 teams with 0 losses, 1 team with 1 loss 2008: 2 teams with 0 losses, 7 teams with 1 loss 2007: 1 team with 0 losses, 2 teams with 1 loss, 10 teams with 2 losses 2 loss teams are not deserving either. One of the 2 loss teams would have gotten the 4th spot in 2007, but I don't care that one is picked over the other 9 since you didn't leave out a deserving team. One of those 2 loss teams won the title in 07. Those numbers don't tell the whole story. The two teams with 1 loss were Kansas and Hawaii, and neither were that good.

Maybe Bo seemed great only because he was working with amazing talent. David, Crick, Dennard, Amukamara, Gomes, Hagg, Suh, Dillard, Asante all playing in a 3 year span? I'm not sure he's ever going to have a defense that good again.

Anyone else find it hard to picture Penn State getting anywhere near the title game? I guess the computer does not factor in losing their coach, let alone the scandal that's going to keep everyone away from that team.

The world must not think too highly of Warren Swain. He has been doing the men's basketball games for the USD Coyotes here in Vermillion, but I don't think they are even bringing him back next season.

Big 10 teams do poorly on the road because the conference is weak and road games are tough. The refs in the conference seem very poor, but they seem to make the absurdly bad calls both ways.

9 wins at most. This defense is probably going to be pretty bad, especially compared to the last few years. Even less excited for this season than I was for the last one. I just don't expect too much from this group.

At the same time I think they could just as easily go 8-4, and because of that I don't think hopes should be high for this season.

4 team playoff. If one of the teams from the Big Ten or Pac 12 make the top 4 then just send a runner up to the Rose Bowl, like they already do! Last year's game had TCU, and if either of these conferences had championship caliber teams we'd see that more often.

But perhaps you thought he meant Nebraska. Yes, was referring to Nebraska. No way they even sniff the top 5. USC on the other hand, definitely the most likely candidate to end the SEC's run.

I agree. Until the polls have no influence on who wins the title, these things shouldn't be put out until well into the season.

We need a dictionary for some folks apparently.... Okay then, it is hardly above average. I did a count and it is 19 teams with at least 10 wins, 4 teams with 9 wins, and 43 with less in the 6 BCS conferences. 9 wins is no spectacle anymore.

Florida State...I just don't get it. They are ranked high every. single. year. And they are mediocre every. single. year. Please, just stop it already. They play in an absolutely pathetic conference, and can never get more than 9 wins in it. 9 wins is not worthy of a top 10 ranking. 25 teams from the "Big 6" won at least 9 games last year. 9 wins has become pretty average. USC is going to win f'ing everything this year though.

Big East in no way deserves to have an auto BCS bid. They only had 4 more players drafted as a whole than Alabama did.

The Superdome and Eagle's stadiums are terrible for college teams, but the Alamo Dome and Gillette Field are great? At least be consistent.

Well I mean Nebraska isnt exactly a powerhouse for basketball.. It's not, but we should still get at least some of the talent that comes from the state. Miles took a CSU team with 4 Nebraska kids to the tourney this year and Creighton made it with 5. The largest university in the state not being able to get any of the talent that does come around is pretty pathetic.

That article says the team hasn't had an in-state signee since 03? How is that even possible?
