Bowl practices are useful to rep the underclassmen and give them more coaching. We're in a position where going to a bowl is unlikely. If we want to get out of this mess we need to play as many underclassmen as possible regardless if we burn some redshirts. We can't let the current starters lack of effort keep us from building the program.

I'm not sure we have to worry about this happening much longer. There isn't a lot of joy beating a doormat. Teams will just come in, deliver the beating and move on to the next game.

I don't think knowledge of X & O's is necessary. Good defenses come from desire to be good. It's easy to identify teams with poor attitudes because their defenses are bad and crumble easily.

I don't like these scrappy Boilermakers.

We have way too many players not cutting it. Attrition is a good thing.

We're good. I figured the players would rather sit out the bowl season hunkered down with a bowl of popcorn and their (probably) fat girlfriends. They also know that some serious s#it will come down on them if they lose all 5 games.

I only saw 2 players on offense do anything or even look like they were trying to do anything while I was watching. Nebraska football is great plays caused by great blocking. Not once did you hear the announcers point out someone making a great block. Yards were gained by individual effort of those players.

They aren't doing their job when Frost has to talk to the players about boneheaded plays. When Frost has to roam the sideline to find players and talk to them, someone is not doing their job.

Our offense had 514 yards, somehow. That's really amazing since the offense has regressed to the point where they are down to some RPO's, designed QB runs and an occasional Stoll quick out. It's obvious that Frost sees sloppy turnover and penalty prone players incapable of executing the playbook and has to play it safe. Our tiny, slow WRs (one being a bobbler) aren't giving Frost many options. Our soft OL leaves us with a hit or miss (mostly miss) running game. With a few more talented players like Luke and Wandale surrounded by other players willing to give some effort, we might have a very good offense in 3 years.

You should have walked away a few games ago like I did. Not sure why I decided to check out the second half. This team still has no heart, extremely soft, loser limping through games with penalties and fumbles, horrible player attitude. I doubt they want the extra practices and work required to prepare for a bowl game. I could watch us get blown out if the team played hard. Way too much quit in this team. Nebraska football has become unwatchable.

I wish Frost would have Cook talk to the football team about winning. It's been a while so maybe Cook could help them understand what it's like and how much better it is than losing. Maybe in a few years the team will be ready for Cook to talk to them about excellence.

Fred motivated me, and then I remembered I wasn't on the team. Should be an interesting BTN show.

I can't tell if they tried to synch the VB and FB schedules or not. Some fans would probably like to attend both games against the Hoosiers but being in different cities makes it difficult.

These girls keep rolling along. I wish we could show the volleyball schedule in the VB forum instead of the football schedule.

Should have been caught. At least UM looked more focused.

We need two former coaches as analysts to play the role of opposing coaches. They can help the staff identify weaknesses in our team while the staff concentrates on attacking/defending upcoming opponents.

I was going down the list of games and thought blowout, blowout, blowout, blowout, who cares, interesting. PSU wins though. UM has some low effort players.

We won't be back. That's not to say in 30 years something unexpected happens and we have a couple of good seasons. If it was going to happen under Frost we'd see some signs of it by now. Frost is a good coach (and was our last hope) but like the players that come to Lincoln, something conspires to make them under-perform. I don't know what is going on in Lincoln but mediocrity rules. Hard to fathom that it once produced a NC contending program for decades.

Good idea. Lets get the VB team to pull double duty. They could teach the team how to play tough and not give up.
