  1. I have a 2016 Canyon. I really like it. Bought it brand new. It is a crew cab with the longest box I could get. I just don't like driving the full size truck every day. I have a 2004 Dodge 3/4 ton for pulling a heavy load when need be.
  2. I would not call for Mazour to play more, but IMO if he is needed to play more due to injury or stupidity (MW), he would be able to get the job done. He is a football player and will play his guts out for the team. I go back to the Michigan game this year and the series where he got about 5-6 touches and scored a TD. No it wasn't against their top defense, but even Michigan's backups are pretty darn good.
  3. McDonald's fries are very solid top 5 type. Just a great go to fry. Runza has the best crinkle fries. Didn't see this listed, smash burger makes a great rosemary garlic fry. They have a smash burger in the Boise airport and I get a bag of those fries before I get on a plane. The burgers aren't anything special. In and Out fries are actually fresh. They actually cut them up and then cook them. I think they are fine, but nothing special.
  4. Black Panther was good, but to say it was Oscar worthy is a bit of a stretch. I didn't think much of Dr. Strange the first time I watched it, I re watched it on Netflicks and like it more on second viewing.
  5. I have a very close friend that has had 2 sons walk on and play at Nebraska, his brother played for them also. He likes to think he knows what is going on in the FB program and the AD in general. He really doesn't though. I am not saying your people don't know stuff, I am just saying that I think there are a lot of people that think they know more than they actually do.
  6. I like some KFC and Popeyes though I rarely eat it. Raising Canes and Chick Fil A are fine. They are Chicken strips and a chicken sandwich. My daughter loves Raising Canes she says it is the sauce that is great. She also likes the chicken strips at Runza. She is a chicken strip/nugget snob.
  7. I like Benning too, I like his take on football and he is pretty knowledgeable about sports in general. As many have said he does like to get cryptic sometimes. For me personally if he doesn't feel like he can discuss something in full than don't bring it up. Didn't care for Bahe at first too much Bball and Creighton BBall in general. I feel he has backed off on that some and is more rounded. He repeats himself and talks in circles a lot but he is not bad except for 1 team each week. On Friday's when Matt Schick calls into the show it is terrible. It is a half hour of them giggling about inside jokes and the good old days when they did a show together. The guys on USC are terrible. I usually listen to a local show out of Boise at that point. It is a really good show with just the right mix of sports and comic stuff. Much more similar to USC when Kuglar and S'evere were on it.
  8. So does Creighton Locker, my problem is that before I ever had one my work was having a picnic and all the lady that was in charge could talk about was that she was getting Wragge Dogs and how wonderful they are. They were good, but not worthy of that much praise. The Wimmers coarse wiener may have changed formula. They aren't owned by Wimmers anymore and they don't even make them in West Point. Someone else bought the name.
  9. Wragge Dogs do not deserve the mythical greatness they have in NE Nebraska. They are good but nothing that special. All the are is a coarse wiener. Wimmers makes one that tastes just the same.
  10. I agree that Moos seems like a throwback guy like Devaney. He would probably enjoy a night or 2 at the Legion Club. You have to admit he is a complete opposite of an AD to what SE or TO was. They were both all administration nose to the grindstone guys. I think you need a mix of it though. Moos just might be too much of a back slapper for some boosters. Plus he doesn't seem like the type of guy that is going to take any advise from boosters. With all that said, I never thought he was a long term guy at Nebraska he is at most a 5 year guy. I think he was 67 when he was hired.
  11. I like them, but I am an old dude. I like LZ, Rush, Cream, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, VH. There is something very basic and pure sounding about a power trio. All three of the musicians have to be good/great to hold up their end. How long has it been since there was a really good power trio/ power trio with a great sounding front man, Probably STP. His voice is closer to Geddy Lee's than Plant, but it isn't dissimilar. Oh, and I am not a huge Smashing Pumpkins fan. Billy Corgan is a wanker.
  12. That was probably directed more at Hunter94
  13. No of coarse it doesn't absolve Cav of all that was wrong under Riley. I am just saying he was doing what he was asked to do. Just because a certain coach didn't get it done at Nebraska doesn't automatically mean he sucks, has always sucked and will always suck.
  14. During Riley's tenure the run game was simplistic and an after thought. Langford and Riley talked about running the ball, but they really weren't committed to doing it. It just wasn't what they wanted to do. The 2017 team was actually a pretty good pass pro team, they just couldn't run the ball. I think it has more to do with scheme and what they wanted the offense to do than anything else. People like to bitch about what Cav was doing with the O-line, well he moved on to Syracuse and improved their line a ton last year. It was more a lack of commitment to running the ball than anything else.
  15. For me that is fine if they mutually want to part ways I have no problem with that. If Nebraska makes it to week 2 of the NCAA tournament are you going to fire that coach? I don't know? Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.
  16. My brother took retirement about 5 years ago and he and his wife do at least 2 big overseas trips a year. He works a little part time at a local CC in Houston taking tee time reservations. If he wanted to they said he could work 40 a week. He doesn't miss his real job at all. My dad was the same way never missed working. He had lots of hobbies and liked to travel a lot. My FIL is the complete opposite he is 78 years old and still wants to keep his hand in his business. We have 3 branches and he basically travels between the 3 in Nebraska, Indiana and Idaho all year long spending winter's in Arizona still working. He has no hobbies all he thinks about is Ag tires, which I think is sad. I truly think he feels if he quits going to work he will die. I myself want to start traveling a lot when my youngest is out of HS. He is a freshman right now. I will be 56 and want to see some of the world when I am young enough to enjoy it. I won't be retired but I think we can be away from the business a week at a time for a while every now and then. Retirement means different things to different people. Guys that built their own business, like my FIL I think have a hard time walking away from it. Guys like my dad and brother that work big corp. find it easier
  17. If Morrow and Jacobson would have stayed this team would go from being a good team with no depth to a conference title contender with a lot of depth. They could play 8 deep without a lot of drop off. Morrow left because he saw himself as a wing player and not an undersized power forward, which I never understood, because he never showed that type of a shooting ability. He is a banger and is basically filling that role for Marquette. Nebraska could really use his 7-8 rebounds a game. I think Jacobson left because he saw himself going from being a starter to a bench player with the addition of Palmer and Copeland to the lineup. Which I get and he is having a good season with ISU.
  18. Nebraska was/is an anomaly, that is why the national media doesn't get Nebraska football and really never did. Even when they were really good in the 90's it just didn't make sense. As Guy Chamberlin says Nebraska has always been all in on football since the beginning of football. They have really only had 2 sustained bad runs. Basically from 1941-61 and 2002 to the present. Some would argue that the present run really hasn't been that bad, just not up to Nebraska standards. As far as the article goes, Nebraska always recruited well during TO's tenure. Probably not as well as some of the other Blue Bloods. They just did other things in S and C and nutrition that made up for not having quit as good a talent. I think they can get back to that level under Frost, but it is still going to take a little luck to win it all.

    2001

There was like 5 teams that had to lose in order for Nebraska to get back into the title game, and all of them lost. That night Miami destroyed Nebraska, they were going to destroy whoever they were playing that night.
  20. You still don’t get it, what a city looks like or what you or I think is a nice place to live is irrelevant. The 2 biggest factors IMO are coach and proximity to home. The Deep South, especially in the rural areas is pretty crappy. But, it is home to a great number of those elite players. I think Las Angeles is a s#!t hole, but players from LA still want to play at USC and UCLA.
  21. I believe my third sentence states that the book is always better than the movie.
  22. As a person that has only seen the movies I enjoyed the movies a lot. I thought they were very well done. Books are always better than the movies. Azkaban is my least favorites of the movies. To me it doesn't make sense all the time. My son who is a total HP nerd says it would make more sense if you read the book. I do like how it is quite a bit darker than the first 2. I would expect nothing else when Alfonso Cuaron is directing. My favorite of the movies is the Goblet of Fire. I really should read the books, I have just never got around to it.
  23. We saw it the weekend it came out. I liked it fine, it is just good escapism film making IMO. I wasn't real sure about Depp as Grindelwald but he did a really good job of it.
  24. You just answered your own question about why this year is a little different. The supporting cast around Palmer is way stronger than in the past. That is really the difference between a good team and great teams. All the traditionally great basketball programs have a strong team. They may have a couple of really good player/scorers but they have a great supporting cast. Next year Nebraska probably will struggle they won't have the players. So I guess fire Miles at the end of the year.
