  1. I'm not as confident as many of you are that Bo will not be fired after the season (gotta get thru two more games still), but the thought of him voluntarily resigning, especially secretly doing it mid season, is not plausible to me.
  2. Woke up waaaaay too early thinking about all the work I needed to do. Surfed the web instead.
  3. Improvement instead of stagnation.
  4. This game was on national television. You're basically asking if it would be better to go 0-1 or 1-1.
  5. This game is NOT on the coaches. Nebraska has completely out coached MSU so far this game. I disagree. Turnovers and being mentally fragile have been incorrected trademarks of Pelini's teams. It's more than just playcalling.
  6. Business is gonne be kinda rough. This guy's giving it away for free:
  7. I think there are still some people who beleive that vaccines cause autism or some such bull$hit that has been thoroughly debunked. If you know anyone who still uses one of those excuses, please punch them in the back of the head.
  8. YES! This was the first thing that popped in my head when I saw the thread title! Handing out 1,000 towels will be about as useful and effective as having Willie the Wildcat (or whatever the f#%K that doofus' name is) on our sidelines.
  9. One of the things that baffles me about the SEC is Missouri's performance, and perhaps my opinion in this regard is baised by my own hatred of Mizzou. But Missouri was always a middling team in the Big 12, that only had their highest moments when Nebraska was at its worst, but even at their absolute best, Mizzou still lost a couple games and were unable to bring home any conference championships to their dusty, lonely trophy case. So they go to the big bad SEC and suddenly are able to compete with everyone and be among the best in the country? Their resources, coaching, and talent are about the same as ever. Are we to believe that a Pinkel coached Mizzou team suddenly got that much better while facing stiffer competition? The same questions apply for Texas A&M, even though they are already a step above Mizzou in resources, talent, and coaching (Sumlin and Manziel certainly helped). It's just hard to fathom that Mizzou and TAMU both left an apparently struggling conference but are having so much more success against teams who are supposed to be so much tougher. I know a lot can change in a program from year to year, but it just doesn't smell right when a couple non-championship caliber Big 12 teams can go to the SEC and magically be better.
  10. I didn't know a coach's win-loss numbers were up for debate. He's won 56 games and lost 22. Coaches are responsible for all of those wins and losses.
  11. That's ridiculous. Both situations are ridiculous, but I don't find it plausible that Pelini would intentionally sabotage any hope for a medical hardship. This staff has made questionable personnel decisions in the past that seem silly to the rest of us, and Beck's playcalling has produced many headscratching moments. It's not difficult to see the Minnesota game as another set of blunders in this area. It's very hard to imagine suddenly sabotaging the career of the very guy that Pelini stubbornly hitched his wagon to three years ago for better or for worse.
  12. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Pelini in large part build his reputation on bringing the blitz at the right time? I seem to remember a lot of good blitzing in 2003 (or maybe it was just Demorrio shedding blocks). During LSU's NC run in 2007, I remember the TV announcers continually referring to "Pelini dialing up another blitz," and we heard a lot of that in 2008 as well when Pelini came on board (particularly the well-timed blitzes from DBs to clinch the Gator Bowl). Even though blitzing turned out to be unnecessary in 2009, and the speed/talent didn't seem to be there the past couple years, now that this D is starting to put it together a little bit, we are seeing a lot more blitzing, which Pelini has always been a master of when the personnel is trustworthy. It's been a hell of a lot of fun to watch the past couple weeks.
  13. I noticed I was sitting at 499 posts and 199 points. So I'll put #500 here. Can one of you fine folks help me out with one more karma point so I can enjoy looking at a couple nice round numbers for a while? (this requires forgetting about the douchy whorishness of begging for points in order to enable the OCD side of my personality)
  14. ...is a BAMF. That's all.
  15. I would certainly hope we can be tough and intimidating without resorting to douchebaggery.
  16. Over. Number of epic game winning Hail Marys: 2 (yes two in the same game, it's gonna be awesome)
  17. Your first and only post was to request a name change? Welcome aboard, our first step is to find you some help for your identity crisis.
  18. That was pretty funny, glad to see him enjoying himself. But here's a tip for any aspiring undercover guys - your cover is never truly blown until you actually admit to it. Ron made a few rookie mistakes there.
  19. Are you really listening? Or just hearing what you want. LP didn't hurt anyone but himself and that poor girl. This conversation isn't really about Lawrence Phillips, but I think you are missing a few pages of his rap sheet. He's hurt a lot of people and is a dangerous criminal psychopath.
