  1. As an alum of the Cornhusker Marching Band, I love this. But it makes me sad that we never did anything that cool back in my day. Really nice creativity from their director.
  2. Mizzou vs UCF and Okie State vs Fresno in the BCS? TV execs and ticket brokers must be salivating at that!
  3. Must be pretty embarrassing to be one of the leftover 3% from Northwestern. Dumbasses.
  4. He'll start but get ejected in the 1st quarter for head-butting a DB on an interception return.
  5. I don't understand bumping an old thread to mock someone's six-month-old hopes about a player's performance?
  6. He is only a JR., so a 2015 class kid. Ah, thanks. Didn't see that he was still only a Jr.
  7. I don't know the nuts and bolts of recruiting, and I don't ask this to be critical at all, but how does a 4-star safety in California, in October, have such a small offer list?
  8. While I agree he's been a very good player for us......I think the above may be a bit of a stretch. No way, he put the team on his back do.

    Onions

+1 on buying yellow onions by the bagfull. The yellows are less expensive and sweeter than most other onions. I like to caramelize a yellow onion or two with butter in a cast iron pan, and I use them in pastas, casseroles, chili, pretty much any savory dish. I use the occasional red onion or shallot if a specific recipe calls for it, but when I make my own recipes, I always fall back on a good supply of yellow onions. During the summer, I will sometimes use a larger yellow onion (or a big Vidalia or Walla Walla onion if they are available) on the grill when I'm cooking meat. Take off the outer skin, cut the onion in quarters form the top so you can open it up, put a chunk of butter and some seasoning salt in the middle of the onion, and wrap it all up in foil. Toss it on the grill, and it turns into a sweet buttery side dish for your cookout.
  10. Whoa, whoa, whoa - that sort of thing is frowned upon these days.
  11. I thought that was a pretty good article for the most part, but LOL at Kansas State being listed among the honorable mentions.
  12. The "How many states have you visited" thread inspired this. If it needs to be moved to the BS Forum, go ahead. Where have you seen the Huskers play? I've seen them in 14 different stadiums: Lincoln, Memorial Stadium Columbia, Missouri Manhatten, Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Ames, Iowa Iowa City, Iowa Lubbock, Texas Norman, OK Arrowhead, Kansas City Alamodome, San Antonio Pro Player Stadium, Miami Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego Sun Devil Stadium, Tempe Rose Bowl, Pasadena
  13. Use Coconut oil instead of olive oil for some extra flavor on your brussels sprouts.
  14. 32 states plus D.C. I don't think I know anyone who has been to all 50, but that is something I've always wanted to do. Most of the states I haven't been to are in the northeast. Arizona Arkansas California Colorado Florida Georgia Idaho Illinois Indiana Iowa Kansas Kentucky Louisiana Maryland Michigan Minnesota Mississippi Missouri Nebraska Nevada New Jersey New York Ohio Oklahoma Oregon South Dakota Tennessee Texas Utah Virginia Washington Wyoming
  15. Maybe the staff has done enough recruiting for the year already and it's finally time to take it eeeeeasy. This recruiting stuff is hard.
  16. Snippets from this song: "While we're on the subject of changing team names, there's no jazz in Utah and few lakes in LA. Just this once give me the benefit of the doubt, the Bullets became the Wizards, too violent? Get out!" "Wouldn't it be offensive if we cheered 'rah rah rah' we're the Carolina negroes with a beat box cheer and a big foam afro, the Minnesota Vikings became the New York Kikes with dollar bills on their helmets cause thats what they're like ya know" "What about the Saints, Angels and the Padres too ain't that the same thing for Christians thats offending you? When there's a Jesus Christ mascot shooting crucifixes they nailed to a cross dying to save the team, you'll be right"
  17. I don't think it's a huge controversy, it's not like the members of the committee all have to be huge football geniuses with a bunch of insider info. They don't even need to rewatch game film 5 times and tell a message board how smart they are, or have to come from a naturally strong family. They just have to watch and know about football and make an opinion regarding who the best 4 teams are. I'm not a fan of Condi Rice but I'm sure she'll be fine. Hell, I could do it. So could you (any of you, probably).
  18. We shouldn't even be talking about it! This thread is putting us all in mortal peril.
  19. +1. You're on your way. In fact, these latest posts are worth +infinity for finally derailing 4 silly pages regarding how SJB should tackle.
  20. It's true. Weak schedules often lead directly to knee injuries.
  21. This makes me feel good. After the UCLA loss and audio-gate, it was an awkward time period. I remember in 2007, we were putting together a pretty good class, but then the best recruits all started jumping ship when the wheels came off the Callahan bus. After UCLA and the peudo-scandals that followed this year, we haven't had any decommits, and now a little momentum is coming back. Kudos to the coaching staff for keeping things stable through the storm, and welcome to the newest recruit.
  22. I have heard that all over the Big Ten network. I think they all need a jumping to conclusions mat since this found offense came against a team that is 101st overall in points allowed. Not a statistician, but I think a larger sample is needed. You must have missed all of the Tommy Armstrong discussions here the past few weeks.
  23. I like the 11am games. With two preschool age kids, the game occurs during lunchtime and nap time, so I actually have a chance to enjoy the game, and when it is over, we still have the rest of the day in front of us to play and get other stuff done.
