  1. It's always disappointing to see a kid come in and not reach the success that was envisioned when he signed. However, to the bolded, I think the value in that is minuscule to the value in bringing in a new kid who has a better chance at seeing the field than the one who is leaving. Is that guaranteed? No. But, having a kid on taking up a spot that isn't going to see the field, prevents the staff from having the chance of that happening. I did a study (sorry, won't do it again) back when we had a lot of dead weight on the roster and very few left even though they weren't going to see the field. I compared that to (I think) Alabama that has lots of kids leave because, after a year or two, they know they aren't going to see the field......and then had full recruiting classes. The number of kids going through Alabama that the staff has the chance to develop and see success with was significant compared to the number of kids that were coming through Nebraska. To a certain extent, it's a numbers game. More kids going through the program, the better chance to find those special players.
  2. I could not agree more. This is a prime type of game where Frost's gamesmanship on offense will show. He learned from TO and others how to set up defenses for plays later in the game. I predict (like you) we see that in this game.
  3. Well, he works for a guy who hawked a university that didn't exist and defrauded people out of thousands of dollars. Two peas in a pod.
  4. True, we have had bad Presidents before. However, in my lifetime (which is on the longer end of the average poster here), we have never had a President who tries so hard to tear down our system of Democracy and plant seeds of doubt amongst his followers in the validity of our government through lies and deception.
  5. The three bolded are nothing more than a difference between you and Flake on political views. Those votes really don't have anything to do with him being or not being spineless against Trump.
  6. I was busy with a project last night while the game was on, so I didn't watch it intently. But, if we are up on Seton Hall after a "sloppy first half".....that's a good sign.
  7. Well...that was impressive. We we should be 5-0 and meet Texas tech or usc in the hall of fame classic.
  8. This is a prime example of play design that puts players in position to be successful. Think of how much easier this play is for O linemen than the pathetic play design and play calling we have seen in recent past where everybody and their dog knew a run play was going to be nothing more than handing it off to the RB to run straight forward between tackles. And, people wondered why our 5 O linemen couldn't block 7 guys.
  9. Both good points. I take back the "wow" I gave them.
  10. So, we have had Agau, Chang and Aguek Arop all leave Nebraska for various reasons. I'm rooting really really hard for this kid to be the most successful of the group. I hope he becomes an absolute stud for us.
  11. I have not really given this thread much thought till recently. I'm beginning to wonder if it really will survive such a pathetic lying sack of crap in the Whitehouse. Evidence of this is that there will be many Trumpees repeating this crap over and over and over again, now that it's come out of the fuhrer's mouth. This pathetic human should be impeached simply because of dereliction of duty.
  12. Both sides ( ) have totally failed reality in the abortion debate. The data don’t end up cleanly supporting one side or the other. Fetal illness is listed infrequently as a reason, indicating that maybe these heart-wrenching stories are not typical. And saving the life or health of the mother wasn’t mentioned at all. Points for the pro-life side. But these data undercut some pro-life arguments, too. Some abortions happen because of problems that pro-life policies exacerbate. Pro-life groups work diligently to make it harder for women to get abortions, yet these studies show that the difficulty in making arrangements is one of the reasons that abortions happen later. (More on that in my piece, “Safe, Legal and Early.” The Inconvenient Truths (For Both Sides) About Late Term Abortions
  13. It truly is amazing how you feed off of the propaganda the Whitehouse and Trump put out.
  14. Guns and abortion. Two issues Republicans have fooled so many people with.
  15. If you have to just have one....fine. However, we would be better with both.
  16. I watched couple NFL games this weekend where before the national anthem they read a dedication to the shooting victims of the mass shootings over the last week. They did this usually while showing black football players standing ready for the anthem. The thought that went through my head was that there is this big of a dedication for the victims of mass shootings.....but.....God forbid, those same football players do some type of demonstration bringing attention to people from black communities being murdered by police officers.
  17. I've said for a long time now, the Republican party offers very little to anyone who isn't an angry old white guy.
  18. So...it sounds like new emigrants came here, didn't know English and then have started assimilating by learning more and more english. Some accommodations in the work place were needed during the process. Am I getting that right?
  19. Sooo.....he actually thinks that man can positively manage nature to this extent.....but....man made climate change is a hoax. Interesting.
  20. I wonder if anything could happen where CNN goes after Trump and the WH staff for putting out the doctored video.
