  1. Where did I say that? Where did I say that? You imply it by denying my statement that the defense lost the game but instead Beck even though we scored 30. Listen I'm not saying Beck's a great OC and yes he does have sporadic play calling, check the board for my posts I state it a bunch, but in no way is UCLA his fault. For today's game let's be honest, besides Martinez and a couple nice runs from AA the run game was inconsistent. Besides throwing the ball backs the safeties up so you don't have 9 people in the box so we have a better chance at running. This isn't the 90s anymore.
  2. Your'e right. A historic amount of yards given up by a Nebraska defense and it's Beck's fault we didn't score 40.
  3. Guess you don't remember the UCLA game too well. Plenty of time on the clock, and he's got T-Mart winging the ball all over, when running the ball would have gotten the job done. Beck uses his head, doesn't go pass crazy, mixes the pass and run, we score a TD and things are vastly different... Guess you don't remember the UCLA game too well. Had the defense given the offense some breathing room we wouldn't of had to pass the ball. Simple.
  4. The two games we've lost this year we've scored 30 vs UCLA and 38 vs OSU. Unless your'e playing Oregon that seems like enough to win most games.
  5. That game was not lost because of the OC. No game is lost because of an OC when you give up 600+ total yards of offense.
  6. I think you're a little too critical. Yes the pass game wasn't working all game but it worked when it mattered. And as far as rushing, with T-Mart with the majority of our rushing yrds and the power running being inconsistent all game with the only thing really effective was the zone read with T-Mart keeping it, if I was an OC I wouldn't want my QB with a career of injuries getting hurt or having to lean on him for rushing yrds. The play calling has been erratic this season but you have to remember the passing game opens up the rushing and vice versa.
  7. Yes. Just look at Kansas State. Efficient on offense and defense doesn't turn the ball over and is able to get turnovers of their own on a regular basis and score off said turnovers. I do not think KState is really that overly athletic or that much better than these teams they destroy. Just efficient.
  8. Have you checked ABC? That's were the game is in my area.
  9. To me it seemed like we passed the ball when we should have ran it and ran the ball when we should have passed. Our first touchdown drive we passed the ball quite efficiently but then we'd stay in spread and start running. I'm not saying we should have passed all game but the spread run wasn't working. We really needed some I-form power running and sweeps. Sometimes I just don't get Tim Beck.
  10. I agree with the statement you made about Tim Beck. We have a lot of threats on offense and they aren't used as often as they should be, but the term you play like you practice is overrated. Most colleges (I assume UNL to be one of them) don't tackle to the ground when they scrimmage to prevent injuries. That means the offensive players don't receive the contact they do during a game and the defensive players don't get offensive players that try to break tackles.
  11. I think the keys to this game are quite simple. We play within ourselves, smart and efficient every down we win. We are a lot better than we think. Turnovers and 3rd down efficiency will win the game. We win this battle 38-17 Nebraska, if we don't...then whether or not we fall apart in the second half will decide if it's a blowout or not. Close game in the first half either way, 2nd half will decide the game.
  12. I think the play like you practice thing is a little overrated. You can't create a game atmosphere in practice. Simply said when it's game time adrenaline and instincts take over. With that said the penalties and fumbles are a complete lack of concentration and while they can be fixed in practices, the fact is they may not be a problem in practices so how are they supposed to fix this? More intense practices may help, or might not.
  13. This is how I feel. Alot of our coaches are young. They don't have the recruiting pipelines that some older and experienced coaches have. Having younger coaches can also attribute to some of our mental breakdowns and giving up big plays. With that said Nebraska is not a place you can learn on the job. Although with that said will firing Bo and his staff give us that instant fix we're looking for? Not unless we can get a coach that can turn things around as fast as Bill Snyder or Nick Saban, and that won't happen. So our best bet for now unless things go completely sour and we fall apart at the seams, is to keep Bo. I do think some of our younger coaches have potential.
  14. Thanks for the response! Does this also apply to ESPN3 on an Xbox 360? I have an internet provider that works for them but I haven't used the service in about a month.
  15. I don't get this. That field goal goes through, we gave up 30 after a bye week. How is that stopping them cold? I don't get this. That field goal goes through, we gave up 30 after a bye week. How is that stopping them cold? Well unfortunately I missed the game, but just looking at the stats.... 35 less points 195 less yards by the opposing offense Opposing teams 3rd down efficiency from 45% to 25% Opposing teams yards per play from 8.4 to 4 All this against two similar offenses But you can take with with a grain of salt because like i said I did not see the game.
  16. Hey everybody I was just wondering if there was a place I could watch the game online. I had to work so I missed the entire game. I know it was on ESPN3 but I won't be able to have access to it till I'm back at my college house Monday so will it be available as an ESPN3 replay? Otherwise if anybody knows a site that has the game on it it would be much appreciated! Thanks.
  17. The tackles on the O-line are susceptible to the outside speed rush.
  18. other than replacing Whaley who has looked slow and the poster child for poor tackling, there is no one else to bring in. To say TMart needs to be replaced is just ignorant. other than replacing Whaley who has looked slow and the poster child for poor tackling, there is no one else to bring in. To say TMart needs to be replaced is just ignorant. Agree with chamrocck. Except for maybe Steinkuhler, I don't know if he has the fire or tenacity to create any disruption in the middle of the line. But the Martinez comment was not needed. He put the time in during his summer to get better. On topic I think if we come out flat footed this week and Ark St racks up alot of yards in the first half I'd expect to see some new people. Bo might be ignorant but I don't think hes stupid. I'm sure he knoows the front 7 are under producing and if things this week go like they did last week expect to see a couple 'Bo' cams and some new people in the rotation.
  19. What ever happened to Courtney Osbourne?
