  1. We have a bigger problem at DE & LB, its called speed. Long passes take time to setup and we are putting very little pressure on the QB.
  2. Our OL sucks! Can't run when there is no blocking! Have to get use to the passing!
  3. Davie can cover, he just does not finish plays. He needs to look for the ball and make his hands active.
  4. We lack talent, you can not blame coaches for drop balls & poor blocking. Plus an offense that is completely new. Once we changed CB, we did better. Its time to let Davies ride the pine. We can also leave Lewis in Miami with all the rest of the thugs.
  5. Plus, this kid transferred High Schools for his Sr. year. Its not all about the stars. Good under the radar recruit!
  6. 20 sacks last season and unranked with no other offers? Wut Transferred High Schools. May have got lost!
  7. It is the OWH, land of the Blue Jays! They sell papers by being negative about the Huskers. No matter the sport!
  8. I will disagree, everyone in my section thought Davie was the best corner after game 1. This week, a couple of the guys about had heart attacks. Of course, they complain about something on almost every possession. He has the athletic ability, we have the coaches and its up to him to look at film and get better. I am not going crucify him after one game.
  9. Imani isn't good. He needs a clean run for 3-4 yards to make a nice gain. I think he is good however...I just think he lacks the vision and shiftiness that our other tailbacks have. Just a guess Is he really a good RB if he lacks vision and shiftiness? Those are 2 pretty big attributes of a good RB. Not if he is strictly a down hill runner. A bruiser back so to speak You're not wrong, but it just seems he's built more for a Fullback position than a straight RB. I love the guy, if his nickname isn't Juggernaut then I don't know why not. Once he's up to speed it usually takes a good three or more guys to stop him. But yeah, he's never going to have breakaway speed, and I think he's set as RB purely to use him more. They don't have many plays that use a FB, and I think Imari's too good to keep sidelined most of the time. I dunno, there's not a good answer for him. Not fast enough to be a true RB, but not bulky enough to be a FB lane maker either. Cross is bigger than our FBs, but he wants to be a RB. He is 6' 1", which is a little short for a TE. But with our lack of depth at TE, it would be nice to see if he fits in some 2 TE sets.
  10. I mentioned this pass play after pass play last night. Drove me crazy. Davie did good against BYU & was one of our better CB last year. Now you want to crucify him over a game we won big. Yes he got beat several times, but he is playing in a new defense and yet another DB coach. The coverage was good, he just needs to look for the ball. The coaches will do there job and he will get better or sit the bench. Riley said after the game. I do not worry about yards its the final score that matters. No TDs given up by the first team and we again played with only 9 starters, which is a reason for the lack of pressure that would of helped Davie on those long routes.
  11. Davie had good coverage and there were some good throws, but he does not look for the ball. A couple of these could have been picked off.
  12. Yes he will unless he gets hurt. This is Riley's MO. I was surprised about last week, as in the past he liked a back that can carry the rock 30 times. I also think that Wilbon is the more explosive back, but I wonder if he has trouble with picking up blitzes. He was the back in the game last week in the 2nd quarter when we were have issues.
  13. That is Banker's def., get use to it. Our DBs will be on an island and they will get beat once in awhile. Riley said in the post game that he does not look at yards a lot, but the score is what matters. The old bend but don;t break. The difference between Rose & Davie was the fact that Rose would look for the ball. I think this will be corrected.
  14. His completion percentage was below 60% due to the 2nd quarter, when no one on our line would block. Tommy also did some stupid things that quarter, but kept his composure. He throw some nice passes over the defenders when their backs were toward him. Tommy would not have done this last year. This is coaching and he will get better!
  15. No doubt. Right after the game I had the mindset that he had played pretty well with the exception of the 2nd qtr. Then after some thought, I think I over estimated how well he played. 2 turnovers, bad. 2 bad grounding penalties, 1 where he could have taken off and had a nice gain. Still seemed to force a few too many throws, and didn't seem comfortable in what little zone read game we ran.He played well enough for us to win, but those same old bugaboos from the past 2 seasons were there. He needs to clean those up, cuz as he goes the offense goes. I think its more of defining the offense. The new staff does not know how to use the zone read, so it did not look good. They need to scrap it and find a different way for Tommy to run that they understand. It's really not that difficult. I thought that this extremely experienced staff would be able to easily correct these errors. Tommy didn't look comfortable in the zone read the previous 2 years, so if Riley and Langsdorf are really the experts and gurus that some say they are, I'd expect that they should easily get their 3rd year starter to grasp the concepts. I agree, but I would think that a pro-style coach would have a different technique (format, blocking ect.) I thought the whole offense looked off and it could be the passing style offense trying to find a way to get Tommy involved is just not working. It is the coaches as much as Tommy. There were times 2 defenders would go right by one of the line, as it they did not know who to block. Overall I thought Tommy looked very composed, other than the grounding.

  17. I definitely agree with your top three, and I like where you ranked defensive backs if that includes linebackers. It's no coincidence that the last time Nebraska won a conference title was also the last time they had a pretty good offensive line. The one constant with all championship winning teams is their line play. Ohio State last year, Florida State the year before. Look at just about any good team out there and they've got great talent on the lines. Naturally, they have playmakers elsewhere, but it's crucial on the line. Since Nebraska won it's last conference title, they've been anywhere from below average to above average, but that's about it. They've missed on recruits or a lot of recruits just didn't pan out for whatever reason. Until this gets rectified, we're not winning a conference title. Back when we won championships we coached them up. We have not had a good OL coach in years. I am hoping Cavanah is this next good coach.
  18. We were jamming the receivers in second half and not giving them a free shot down the field. We have not seen defensive adjustments in years!
  19. This kid is the heart & sole of this defense and he is going no where. He might be a better coach. Its more about the lack of depth that hurts.
  20. So, like when we lost our NT on an uncalled chop block by one of your linemen and RB, whi hit him square in the side of the knee? I understand why you're upset, but these things happen on both sides. And low tackles downfield are far from illegal. There is not problem with tackling below the knees, but from behind, out of bounds & after the play was over. This is a problem.
  21. With Foltz hurt, Brockmierer was the holder. I like how this kid made no excuses and took the blame. I expect him to bounce back. We have a bigger issues, such as a OL that can not push to get a 3 & 1.
  22. I heard Gangwish is done for the seasons and there were 4 or 5 others with angle sprains that will be day to day. There were a lot of low hits from behind!
  23. A friend of my son got his picture taken with him after the game. Said he was really nice guy and that he was truly upset about the Husker lose.
