On the first video the announcer said he likes him because he is a winner, and that what he does you cant teach or coach he just has IT..Did say he has an unorthodox throwing motion. He kind of reminds me of that QB that came in 2nd string as a true freshman for Southern Miss and we could not stop the guy. Any one remember his name and if he is starting for them this year? He was highly recruited , but everyone thought he was going to play baseball, but then decided to play football at the last second. edit.. It was Anthony Alford, he had 89 yards rushing against us, but had a 44% passing percentage the rest of the season and averaged 4 yards a carry through the season. The Jays gave him a 750.,000 signing bonus them let him play football for S.Miss. Also was arrested for assault and had a gun on him, and was kicked off the team. Sounds like another waste of a gifted athlete.

Everyone was saying Taylor would be the one to watch this year, and no one was really talking about Newby. I think with Cross having another year under his belt and being interviewed saying he understands the offense a lot more, might as well redshirt our other big back and get Cross more carries. Plus Newby is a threat to take it to the house every time he touches the ball, and can stiff arm people to the ground , hurdle over people and cut on a dime. I still cant believe that h.s game where he had 360 yards on 16 carries and 8 touchdowns. Very excited to see this guy play...damn is it saturday yet?

What the hell?The kid walks off the field with some sort of injury no one knows anything about, in the first game of his senior year, and you guys are wondering if we should be looking for another QB. I don't care if he blew his knee out, its a year before he gets here. Stanton got hurt and no one suggested backing off him. Come on guys, he walked off the field, relax

What makes you think we lose to Penn State? I had been lurking for quit a while before i joined and read a lot of your posts. Most of them had some kind anti Bo message. And you dont like T-Mart at QB. You predictions are very gloom and doom, going so far as to predict not only 4 loses this year, when we have a very easy schedule , but also that you think T-mart is going to get hurt this year. It really is like you want us to fail to prove your point that Bo is not head coach material. In an old post you ripped on Beck , saying he was merely a high school level coach , and out of his element, now he is one of the hottest rising young coaches in the country...just calling it as I se it. You are not very supportive of our staff at all

Excellent post. I agree with everything you you said here. We have a lot of speed on both sides of the ball this year, and I think our D will be much improved because of it. Yeah they are young, but all the elite teams out there are playing true freshman and RS freshman and winning. I'm really excited to see these young bucks in action

From the way it sounds Gerry, Banderas. Taylor and Newby are the ones they are talking about the most. I would also say Gerry, and Taylor on offense are the ones I'm most excited about seeing play

Where do guys think they should play Gerry...safety or LB? Looks like he will contribute more than any of the true freshman.

People bashed our coaches before this and will continue to do so. But, hey lets blame it on a 20 year old kid that couldn't stand Barneys and Pelini's personalities (imagine that?). We know , we know, you hate Coach Pelini. I have read you're post's before, and you have made you're feelings clear.

I know I just said Gerry could be something special at safety in another thread, but I think he could be an even better OLB. He has first round ability at that position imo. Didn't Osborne do this quite a bit in his days? Take a big athletic safety with some speed and move them to LB. Yep...Jamal Williams. Remember him blowing up the Florida QB for a safety in the 96 Fiesta Bowl.

Gerry on D...Incredible athlete and they say he will play as a true freshman. Westerkamp on O...I know we are stacked and it will be tough for him to get in, but they say he has the best hands on the team and is known to run very good routes. also everyone is talking about Taylor, but im curious to see Newby on offense as well.

Nice. 6'3 180 pound freshman , with 4.5 speed? This is the kind of home grown talent we need more of in Nebraska.

I'm not familiar with the radio station he was on, but it sounded like whomever was doing the interview was Kansas based... I believe that the kid loves his town and his state and out of respect and just being the kind of kid he sounds like, he was probably just shooting some good will to those listeners. I agree/hope that he is coming to NU...I think in the end he knows what is best for his interests and he knows his mom would want what is best for him as well. Good point. It was a local radio interview. I'm sure he was just trying to please the interviewers and the listeners . Kansas ST and Kansas were the only to schools he mentioned by name at all, so that pretty much says it all. Soon as the interview was over, the host said how important it was to keep the Kansas talent in state.

I so excited about this incredible athlete, and went back and read the whole thread and came across all of these negative posts by this guy. Just don't understand how he can not see what the rest of us do. His film looks great, despite lack of competition, blazing speed, iooks like he could win a bodybuilding competition . Good EZ-E, please do. I just joined not long ago and there are never any new threads on here. I know its the off season, but threads like framing a blowout, boring to say the least. How many points does it take to be considered a blowout? I mean I cant think of anything right off the top of my head, but one of you long time regulars can come up with something interesting I'm sure.

I thought we had all of our eggs in one basket with Darlington. We are in on 3 highly ranked Florida QB's . Flowers, Darlington and Pierre. Not to mention a couple of Qb's from Alabama. I'm starting to get excited about all the big recruits that have us in their top 4 or 5 right now. Looks like we are being really picky this year and I think if we can have a good season we will get a lot of them. GBR
