  1. Just for reference, UCF's defense largely carried them their first season. Their offense had a long way to go, then they were one of the best in the country in year 2. I think with Martinez we have some potential on offense otherwise we're in for a long season.
  2. We had to go conservative today imo. The QB run game was non-existent, you can imagine where things go if we have to play the true freshman walk on. Bunch didn't read things well at all today, credit to Troy in part. The punt return TD was the killer combined with the easy FG miss.
  3. I'm still very positive despite the 0-2 start. I like where things are going. Knew the turnaround couldn't be instant. Played a walk on at QB and frankly he looked like a walk on today. Credit to Troy. Defense isn't great but much improved imo. Some mistakes are still there but guys are playing hard. Our kicking game is horrendous. If there is one thing Frost needs to pay more attention to it's that imo. He seems to consider it a necessary evil. Special teams is killing us right now. LSU rebounded after the Troy loss last year and salvaged their season. Hopefully we can do the same. Hopefully Martinez can get and stay healthy.
  4. In the overall scheme of the program it doesn't mean squat. In terms of this year it could be a pretty big loss. I'm looking at the program in terms of the next few years so it doesn't bother me. Everyone has their own perspective though.
  5. With Martinez I think we get to 6+ wins. Without I don't know. We don't have much margin for error, so we are in a bad spot right now.
  6. Not making excuses for Frost but all the major hires seem to be struggling early on. Chip Kelly is 0-2. Mullen is losing to Kentucky at home right now. FSU has looked terrible so far getting blown out by VT and down to Samford. Tennessee stunk up the joint last week. Jimbo looks OK so far though. Overnight turnarounds are tough.
  7. Frost inherited a s#!tshow. It's going to take some time and we have a difficult schedule this year. Some fans were being unrealistic re this team this year. Yeah they found a way to blow this game but I see a bright future. Frost wasn't hired to go 6-6 this year, he was hired to compete for championships in the future.
  8. This team would've kicked the crap out of the 2017 version. Sucks to be 0-1 but we knew we weren't going to compete for any big trophies this year. That starts next year. I saw a lot of mistakes today but I also saw guys playing their guts out. Gebbia missed a huge opportunity imo.
  9. Got a long way to go but Frost is going to get us there. Only having 1 scholarship QB this year is a killer. Losing the TO battle is still very much a thing for us and has plagued us for 15 years. I'm going to enjoy watching Frost build this thing, not sweating individual games this year.
  10. Beating Colorado may mean more than going to a bowl this year and I agree. Happy to go 8-3 as well
  11. Socialism looks good on paper, but it doesn't work and is against human nature imo. Not sure what religion has to do with an economic system. Seems like an emotional plea. I'm non-religious fwiw. In Socialism, the people in government end up getting wealthy and and everyone else gets the scraps. At least with capitalism the big earners get a lot but the standard of living increases for everyone. Assuming the economy is good of course. I'm not overly impressed in Cortez's brilliance at this point either. Her answers on Firing Line were not impressive to say the least. Looked like the left's answer to Sarah Palin.
  12. I think we'll be highly competitive quickly under Frost, meaning by year 2 or 3. Frost is going to turn the roster over pretty quickly and get more out of the guys that are already on campus. I doubt we'll ever have the roster that Alabama has 1-85. They've had the #1 recruiting class for 7 straight years. I don't see us doing that but we can compete with anybody with great coaching, top level development, and good recruiting.
  13. Good decision. I think it benefits him and the Huskers.
  14. Safety recruiting appears to be going swimmingly. Would like to see them pick up a quality CB or two.
  15. Problem is they are going back to coach UCF and won't be on the trail next week. With the early signing period this is trouble.
  16. That's something going around. Not sure what the truth is but stiffing a long time AC is never a good look. Seems like the guy wanted to be a UCF lifer. Too bad if it ends on a nominal amount of money.
  17. Saturday, Sunday, or Monday. January's not even an option, somebody else will coach the Peach Bowl or whatever if UCF wins.
  18. There are still some of you that think this is an "if" situation?
  19. I am hoping they can keep the single game records to under 5
