  1. He's not wrong. He actually mentioned Nebraska and Oklahoma's strengths. “When you have great fan experiences, great experiences on campus, and it’s lucrative, that’s the best recruiting pitch possible,” UCF is trying to catch up in that department. He's basically saying if UCF can be competitive in those areas (where we currently lead) it will enhance their advantage. Which is locale. Media is trying to twist it as a dig. Its a complement. Everything else we have outweighs our locale. I mean... to get outraged at this is pretty weak. Bring on the cancel culture.
  2. Even more infuriating about the price gouging is that in most instances, these are the same businesses who got millions upon billions of our tax payer dollars to keep them in the green through the pandemic. So they took our tax dollars, now they are after the little bit that the common American got that stemmed them through or put them a little ahead.
  3. Who Benefits From Inflation? While consumers experience little benefit from inflation, investors can enjoy a boost if they hold assets in markets affected by inflation. For example, those who are invested in energy companies might see a rise in their stock prices if energy prices are rising. Some companies reap the rewards of inflation if they can charge more for their products as a result of a surge in demand for their goods. If the economy is performing well and housing demand is high, home-building companies can charge higher prices for selling homes. In other words, inflation can provide businesses with pricing power and increase their profit margins. If profit margins are rising, it means the prices that companies charge for their products are increasing at a faster rate than increases in production costs. Also, business owners can deliberately withhold supplies from the market, allowing prices to rise to a favorable level.
  4. What's being called inflation is nothing more than price gouging by corporate monopolies. They are using the excuse of the pandemic to line their pockets. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. Especially when you are at the bottom of the supply chain with over supply and low demand. And the corporate overlords that are engaged in the illegal practices of price fixing are raking it in, recording record profits while blaming inflation. - Its a freaking joke.
  5. Not to drudge up an old conversation, this was in the World Herald this morning. Repeats a lot of what I shared in regard to rural voters and the lack of Dem party representation in rural areas. https://omaha.com/news/national/the-brand-is-so-toxic-democrats-fear-extinction-in-rural-america/article_a4cc6ed0-523d-54a9-9f66-425c3bac9d98.html#tracking-source=home-top-story
  6. 1) If my grade school aged kids are any indication, Under Armour will soon over take Nike as the cool brand. The way they look at the swish branded clothes, it might as well be Wilson. All their classmates are the same. 2) I have not seen Squirt served through a fountain in years. Most gas stations still have Squirt, Diet Squirt, and Ruby Red Squirt around here. I will kill for some Diet Ruby Red Squirt, but I don't think they even make it.
  7. Isn't he the one who left Nebraska for Yale?
  8. If the transfer portal gets hit with loads of Michigan guys, we should accept their whole offensive and defensive lines.
  9. It does the BIG no favors to keep it at 9 when it comes to playoff teams. If the other p5 will not play 9 we have to go back down. 9 is the way it should be, but right now it only handicaps the BIG.
  10. Oh yeah, then a family of 4 could spend nearly a whole paycheck to enjoy a gameday experience with with their young kids (and future huskers). I all honestly this is already an issue and (in addition to lack of success) is part of the reason a lack of state pride is growing among the youth in our state.
  11. Carl Pelini soon to be named director of player development.
  12. I agree with this. Omaha as a whole feels like they are above the rest of the state including the University.
  13. JFC... where the hell is McCarthy when you need him?
  14. I don't care which of the QBs wins the job, though I am pulling for Haarberg. I just don't want to see a split in the locker room again like we had with Martinez and McCaffery, that would be very detrimental given that roster churn has probably already deeply affected team unity.
  15. A candidate that completely ignored any and all debate rules, vs a candidate that for the most part did???
  16. Whats remarkable to me is how much of the stories here sound like the stories of people who have chosen to leave the Mormon Church or Church of Scientology (not trying to put these two religions on the same level in case we have any Mormon posters.)
  17. Truth be told a moderator can only do so much. Its up to the candidates to act respectably up there. They are supposed to be the best of us and lead by example on how to debate issues we disagree on with respect for one another. This has sorely been lacking. You can't hang that on the moderators.
  18. This though is part of the problem. The dems have invested resources in solidifying other voting blocks at the expense of rural. As a result rural just becomes redder and wider. The dems need senators from rural states to counter balance gerrymandering in the house.
  19. Your poo pooing of the passage of Statewide left leaning initiatives in a VERY red state gave clear indication that you do not see national politics as a local problem (they most certainly are). If you care to retract or amend that statement, I'd be happy to adjust mine.
