  1. I think it was against Kansas in 2008, because the "I don't think we're in Kansas anymore" clip was referencing the beatdown they gave us in Lawrence the year before.
  2. For all the good the move to the Big Ten has done for NU, one thing that can't be replicated is the history and (mostly one-sided) rivalries we built up with the old Big 8 teams back in the day. It would be great to play some of those teams again in my opinion. I'd much rather play KSU, KU, Missouri, OU, OSU, Colorado, ISU instead of Rutgers, Maryland, Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  3. Good for O'Brien, it was pretty obvious after seeing him in action last year that he does have some passing skills, but his skills don't match this new offense. So I wish him luck wherever he ends up. I rewatched his half against Minnesota the other day and even though he had a decent scramble or two he just wasn't remotely quick/fast enough for what we're going to be doing from now on. He seemed much closer to Lee than Milton in that regard. Better for all parties for him to go to a team that is a more comfortable fit!
  4. Like I said, I never saw the guy but as a student that year that was the rumor.
  5. Word around campus in 07 was that Keller was a cocky party boy snortin his way around town til he became a famous NFL star. No idea why Lee would be despised (or if those rumors were true at all about Keller), but that was the story with Keller at least.
  6. I understand limited media access but of course I'd love to see more. That being said, I completely trust that Frost and the staff are doing it more as a "just hang on a bit while we get everything into shape behind the curtain, you're gonna love it when we're done, just be patient" rather than the (sometimes) Bo style of "MEDIA IS EVIL AND FANS WILL TAKE WHAT WE GIVE THEM AND LIKE IT" vibe. I'm really hopeful that we'll be getting more Rise & Conquer style videos though, I think those are an incredible gift to fans and will definitely make us feel like a part of the process regardless of whether we see media reports after each practice. Since the video yesterday said "Episode I" I assume there will be plenty of content for us to obsess over haha.
  7. Hell yeah this is awesome, it said "Episode 1" so I hope that means they're doing a full Rise & Conquer style series here too. The ones from UCF were great
  8. I think if he ended up as Bo's OC, it's much more likely that he would've been fired along with the rest of the staff than promoted to head coach. He kinda dodged that fate by not being hired, and now he has a better chance of being here as head coach someday.
  9. I think this could happen and we wouldn't have to pay Moglia nearly as much as Bo. Totally my own uneducated opinion though.
  10. Yeah, nothing will happen with one game left. But if we lose again next week, look out.
  11. I have to assume that if we lose our last 3 games of the regular season, it would be enough of a meltdown to press the issue. He'd be fired. Just my guess.
  12. I don't think people have a problem with Bo because he didn't have head coach experience. Plenty of coordinators turn into good head coaches. Bo deserved a shot and got one. It's what he did after that shot that most people have issues with, not that he got hired in the first place. At least that's my opinion.
  13. Yeah, I mean there are some things that could happen that would be more of a home run, but I would definitely like to see how it would play out.
  14. I remember big time rumors after Iowa last season that one scenario would bring Moglia in as HC with a tiny salary (since he's insanely rich and we could then spend way more on assistants), and Frost as OC and head coach in training. Moglia is a true genius at the organization/CEO aspect of running a huge company, and hopefully with the right assistants the coaching aspect would be taken care of as well. In theory, Moglia gets the ship running in the right direction and hands it over to Frost after 3 years of being groomed for the job. Sounds crazy, but who knows maybe it would be crazy enough to work haha. Edit: Tressel/Frost in a similar situation was rumored too. I'd be cool with that too at this point.
  15. Agreed kchusker_chris. I actually think Tommy is gonna end up being a really good one for us, but there is absolutely some kind of miscommunication that is plaguing our passing game. He throws a great looking ball, and unlike Taylor (who I liked as well) Tommy actually "looks" like a QB. I feel like there's a chance something will just click with him at some point and he'll become a very good QB.
  16. Seems like recently they've ended up saying "Til we can't be beat, won't be beat," but "A team that can't be beat, won't be beat" makes more sense in my opinion.
  17. I don't know a thing about chainsaws, but if this comparison is accurate then this is the best post in this thread. Haha
  18. Westerkamp looks more and more impressive. IF Armstrong can be consistent, he will be a true difference maker. When he's on he's very on
  19. True, plus on their bottom-of-the-screen scroll on Saturday they were listing Newby's stat line instead of Ameer's haha
  20. I agree! Thanks for posting all that info.
