  1. Not pointing specifically at you, but none of the arguments denouncing Dobson make any sense. I have yet to hear one thing this guy factually did wrong here. He's tied to the Bo administration so people don't like him - I get that, and it is what it is, but that doesn't mean he's bad, or did a bad job. You're right, It's too soon to tell but if the injuries drop substantially this year, I'd say that's a pretty good indication Did Nebraska suffer more/greater/different injuries under Dobson than comparable schools? I haven't seen anything showing we have. Which is why I said it's too soon to tell. To me the only comparison we will have is to ourselves and the jury will be out on that until next year is over, at the earliest.

You're right, It's too soon to tell but if the injuries drop substantially this year, I'd say that's a pretty good indication no 2 years are ever the same, might want to wait and see if a better trend develops.........over a couple years at least. Except for at least the last two where we've had significant injury problems. There's been enough of a re-occuring injury trend the last few years that if we see a SUBSTANTIAL decrease this year and especially the following year, that's on Dobson.

  4. Another year won't hurt his draft prospects It might, actually. I am sure he took a hit this year compared to last year. He's not even projected to go through the second round this year. Another year isn't going to hurt him at this point, especially with some of the players coming in. I'd be surprised if he declares. I'm thinking he would move on to play in Europe or something like that. The NBA isn't in his near future. Certainly not after this year. I could see that as a possiblity but I still think he sticks around for his Senior year. If he has another rough year, then maybe he goes the Europe route. Although I'm not sure he would even consider that with his mom's health concerns. I know I wouldn't. You don't just go from a potential first rounder, to undraftable from one year to the next. Yes he's regressed from last year but we've seen what he can do with talent around him. He has to realize that's sorely lacking right now. He also knows he's not having the greatest season and I just don't see him hanging it up and going to Europe without giving it his all. The one exception being that he quits b/c of his mom (wanting to be closer to home and whatnot).

  6. Not yet but there are talks of making a rule change that would allow it: http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/12308125/coaching-changes-national-signing-day-unfair-football-recruiting
  7. I would spend my money on ammunition to shoot the tires out of vehicles like this. Haha that's fair. It is a pretty douchey vehicle and not really my style but I think the fun that could be had in that thing would be worth it.
  8. Some friends and I started a small pool for the lottery since it is up so high. There are 6 of us and we all put in $6 so we have 36 tickets for the drawing. Now since we are obviously going to win, I was thinking of how I would spend all the money I will soon have and so it prompted the following question: If you won the lottery, how would you spend the money? It can be a multitude of items or just one item in particular that you would really like but is completely out of the question without an enormous sum of money. I'm not sure what these cost exactly but I would probably have to buy one just because of how ridiculous they are (and they're street legal):

I've had this idea for a while but your status prompted me to follow through. My current card with Citi doesn't have text alerts for every purchase. Looks like Well Fargo does so I'm going to switch.

  10. Seems to have a lot of talent, but he's going to have to prove it. Always seemed indecisive, and lacked "wiggle"..... However, there is probably something to be said for not being allowed to get into a rhythm. I fully expect Newby to make a big jump much like Ameer did between his sophmore and junior seasons. You mean between his Sophmore, and Junior Year? Ameer ran for almost 1,200 yards after Burkhead got hurt, as a Sophmore. You could just tell Ameer had it, and I don't see it with Newby. Maybe with more carries it'll change my mind.... Hope so. I wasn't so much getting at numbers, as I was his overall skill set. Ameer had some serious ball security issues that Sophmore season (much like Newby does now) and to me was good, but not great that year. I didn't truly think he was going to be special until his Junior season, personally.

  12. I was more than happy to not take Freeman. Was never impressed with him in college and certainly not the NFL. We should all be happy we didn't waste a scholarship on that bust. Thanks Joe!
  13. This is a very well written article by someone who wasn't vaccinated as a child. Pretty much sums it all up for me: http://www.slate.com/articles/life/family/2014/01/growing_up_unvaccinated_a_healthy_lifestyle_couldn_t_prevent_many_childhood.html

  15. So much this. There were so many times where the ball would be passed to someone actually open, and then rather than shooting the wide open shot, they would continue to just pass the ball around until they ended up throwing up that last second prayer. It's like a lot of our guys are actually afraid to shoot. I don't get it.

  17. I believe the annoucers said during the Minnesota game we're averaging .8 points on transition offense
  18. I'm not an idiot, I can tell you a lot about the play that I am talking about. Firstly, it was a four verticals concept, in this case, UCLA is blitzing, and based on the coverage, the outside WR's can run the fade or comeback. Considering the inside seam would clear the FS from being anywhere near the comeback, the comeback was the route run. It is obvious, based on coverage, TM's 3 step drop and the blitz where TM is going, the comeback. Who is running the comeback? Wullenwaber. He's the outside WR, meanwhile, Bell, Westerkamp, and Carter all run their prospective verticals. Enunwa sits on the sideline with Turner watching. All those guys you listed?, they all had cases of the dropsies too. You can complain and analyze the personeel and playcall all you want. Bottom line is, they guy was open, the ball was thrown to the right guy, and he dropped it. You really think Dallas Cowboys throw the damn ball in critical situations to Terrance Williams? No, the damn ball is going to flippin' Dez Bryant. It would be stupid not to throw to one of your best players. On a 3rd and long, you throw to one of your best players. You put out the best players out there, because a 3 and out after UCLA just took the lead is not how you win a football game. Am I wrong here? And if I am, sorry to Beck for that, sorry for suggesting we have our best players out on the field on a 3rd and long... To be fair, Wullenwaber was supposed to be one of the fastest players on the team at the time. May have played a small part in that decision.
  19. So who do you suggest play in place of Parker and Rivers? Hammonds not ready. Fuller's not ready. You think if there wasnt a better option they wouldnt be on the floor already? But the rest, your assessment about last year, is spot on. We did get spoiled by lightening in a bottle for a month. Pitch, Petteway, and Shields got hot, noone took us seriously, and we won a bunch of games. It's a little different now. We're a 16-17 win team with a probably NIT bid. PG - T. Smith & C - Abraham I agree that T. Smith should be starting over Parker. We actually have some semblance of an offense with T. Smith out there. As others have said, Benny provides much more of a spark coming off the bench than when he's starting, whatever the reason may be.
  20. Haven't really had much of a chance to play a lot of them yet but this may be the greatest thing ever (some old school MS_DOS Games): https://archive.org/details/softwarelibrary_msdos_games/v2

  22. To me it's pretty clear the Pac 12 is the better conference this year. The SEC didn't hardly beat anyone with a pulse in the OOC. They then spent the rest of the year with the media drooling all over them while they beat up on each other. They then laid a big egg (relative to what the media thought they would do) in the bowl games. Meanwhile, the Pac 12 actually played some good teams in the OOC with their best team beating a top ten team (possibly top 5) and they have a team in the championship game after winning a playoff game. I think it's laughable that someone would say "well, the Pac 12 is getting closer". Dude, they passed them up. Was talking to my roommate this weekend about where we would rank the various conferences for this year top to bottom. IMO it goes: 1)PAC-12 - Clear frontrunner 2-3)B1G/SEC - Both seemed to be pretty evenly matched this year, all teams considered. 4)Big 12 - Yes, TCU and Baylor are both elite teams but aside from that, Big 12 is a conference with a whole lot of offense and no defense. No other real standout teams, aside from maybe KSU. I would agree the the Pac-12 is looking a little better than the SEC, but I don't know that they are the clear front runner. I would also say that SEC would be #2 and I would put B1G #3. I think this bowl season has said a lot about how the SEC is down a little bit from what they have been in the past couple of years. I know that some people want to argue that bowl games don't really matter as much and they don't measure that much, but they measure quite a bit IMO. PAC-12 has a team in the national championship game and went 6-2 in bowl games this year and 8-4 against P5 non conference opponents. I would say that makes them #1 without a doubt. Agreed about PAC-12. You say bowl games matter, which I agree with. The SEC went 2-4 against ranked bowl opponents, the B1G went 3-2. The B1G's top 3 teams (tOSU, MSU, Wisky) all won their bowl games and the SEC's top 3 teams lost their bowl games (Bama, Miss. St. and Ole Miss). If you factor in the regular season on top of that with quality wins for the SEC and B1G comparatively, to say that the SEC is definitely ahead of the B1G, I think you my friend, have been watching too much ESPN.
