  1. My guess is we beat MN and Riley record at NU ends up being, appropriately, 20-20
  2. Feel bad for Eichorst; feel way worse for the 12 year old and his family.
  3. Born and raised in Nebraska, remember growing up listening to Lyle Bremser on the radio every Saturday in the fall. Last lived in Nebraska in 1990. Have only been to Memorial Stadium twice, the last time being 1983 vs UCLA. Was at Kinnick Stadium for Bo's last game. Always been a Husker fan, always will be.
  4. I agree with you that it is cool, and would think that the church benefits from the fact that Washington and Lee worshipped there. However, the church probably got this one right, by moving the memorials out of the sanctuary and to a different part of the church. I would hope they would still somehow be able to show visitors where Washington sat.
  5. My guess is we finish 5-7, lose to Penn St., the other 4 are toss ups.
  6. I really think Trump believes he was being compassionate. This truly is how inarticulate he is.
  7. I'm no expert, but isn't using a search firm more of a collaborative effort with the AD. At a very simple, high level view, I'm assuming the process is somewhat like the following: 1)AD gives search firm criteria for job and list of potential candidates. 2) Search firm contacts/investigates candidates and removes candidates from list based on lack of interest by candidate or some disqualifying factor. 3) Together AD/search firm/NU admin forms list in order of preference and contacts candidates in order of preference. 4) NU hires first candidate who agrees to contract (remember, we start with our preferred candidate and go down the list)
  8. Yep, if true, seems just like Benghazi. This is where I wish members of congress would do there job. If it was important to hold hearings on Benghazi, hold hearings on Niger.
  9. Yes, I think he does. I think the tougher question is does he keep his job if he goes 4-1 or 3-2 the last five games.
  10. To be honest, I haven't really given it a lot of thought. I'm sure if Mueller finds an impeachable offense, he will be more than happy to let us know.
  11. I dislike Trump as much as the next guy; but I don't think he's really done anything that would warrant a forced removal from office.
  12. I wouldn't say I'm a Frost or bust guy; but I will say we are lucky that one of the hottest young coaches right now happens to be a former NU quarterback that led us to a national title. If Frost had the exact same resume with the only difference being he won a championship as quarterback at Somewhere Else U, I'm not sure we beat out Tennessee, Missouri, UCLA, Arkansas etc. for his services.
  13. Unlikely to happen, but to me the best thing would be for Riley and Moos to negotiate a settlement, where Riley announces now that he is going to retire at the end of the season, and NU pays a negotiated part of the buyout.
  14. I'm not advocating for it; but the only positive of firing now is you don't give Riley a chance to make firing him later more difficult by going 5-0 or 4-1 to finish the season.
  15. This gets really dicey for Moos if we win 4 of the last 5 (only losing to Penn St.). If that saves Riley's job for a year, Frost may be coaching somewhere else when Riley gets fired next year. This is, of course, assuming that Frost is even on Moos' short list.
  16. If I had to guess, the sell out streak will end and there will be some empty seats in Memorial Stadium next year.
  17. We are on the verge of dominating this map. All we have to do is beat Ohio St. and Penn St. (sarcasm, obviously)
  18. No I don't. As they are basically illegal, I'm sure they're hard to get anywhere.
  19. You keep saying automatics, but do you mean semi-automatics?
  20. I say this as someone who is not fond of the protests during the national anthem and as someone who used to be a big fan of Pence, before he signed on with Trump. I remember when people booed when Pence walked in to watch the play "Hamilton" shortly after the election and Pence could be overheard telling his daughter that "that's what freedom sounds like." Well, Mr. Vice President, I may not like it, and you may not like it, but players quietly protesting during the national anthem is what freedom looks like.
  21. Honest question, do our receivers really drop the ball more than other teams?
  22. I think if we go 6-6 (5-4 in BIG), it's a toss up as to whether or not Riley is fired. 7-5 (6-3 in BIG), Riley stays for another year.
  23. I'm sure she wouldn't. I only replied to your post because your first sentence was, Condi isn't a Husker. An interesting note, there are 3 schools in the power 5 conferences that have women athletic directors. Two of those schools finished last year ranked in the top 7 of the AP poll. #4 Washington and #7 Penn State.
  24. And if there is, so be it. That's how our system of gov't works.
