If that is the case that it never ceases to amaze me how much history repeats itself, didn't Pedey send a private jet to pick up Houston Nutt at Arkansas only for the jet to come back empty? That after firing a coach who had just finished one year with his retooled assistant coordinators, including a new DC? Also, this feels like the "Go get a Nebraska guy" part of the cycle where all the fans want a particular guy, the AD is fired and they go get that guy everybody wants. Pelini last cycle, Frost this cycle.

Yeah, that's something I asked in another thread, just what powers this interim guy will have.

I think this was done with the timetable in mind of giving the new AD at least time to fire the HC if neccessary. I'll be honest I have no idea what is going on, we don't know who the new AD will be, what their expectations are, what their definition of "Competitiveness" is. I will say this, firing Riley after only one year with a revamped staff smells a bit of Solich's fire, I would have liked to see the d get another year but I really don't even know what I want anymore, I'll always be a fan though 12-0 or 0-12.

This is true but I can't help but wonder with all the resources put into the shiny new basketball complex and arena with 1 NCAA Tourney loss to show for it that might have an effect or the previous woman's coach abusing players or whatever got her in trouble.

I had always heard the score but never knew the story behind it. I laughed until I cried, some of this is pretty horrifying considering how the game is played now, but I believe this is totally worth a watch.

I've been thinking about this, I can't come up with a good over/under. On the one hand with all the angst surely someone will spout something the sock would be interested in even if it's 100% bs. On the other hand I don't see much going down unless SE is fired first.

Has anybody seen what Bob "Long Pause" Davie is doing at New Mexico? That option is fun to watch. Ran out of the gun instead of the flex like the service academies/GT so you can't key on which way the option is going. Lots of read option built in. I'm not saying we should do it here, I'm just saying for all of you option lovers give it a watch if you haven't already.

Really this is all I wanted out of this season. But apparently that's asking too much. Now we'd have to win 5 conference games just to get to 500 and I don't think we can do it.

Polls this early in the season are totally pointless imo. They shouldn't start until about week 5. I know they have to sell early season games like FSU/Alabama with #'s next to their names but preseason and early season polls are dumb.
