    So with Riley not having a WR coach yet does this mean we are down a recruiter on the road or is someone recruiting for us in that spot until it is filled?

      That's a good question.

       

      We're definitely down a staff member, but I wonder if they might be assigning someone else the vacant recruiting spot currently. Haven't seen anything to that effect, though.

    I understand why people want more Nebraska kids but I don't want the staff to take player A over player B just because he is from Nebraska. Go out and get the best possible players for your system that you can develop. No matter where they are from.

    So you would turn down a linebacker that isn't fresh out of high school 18 year old. Its a scholarship commitment for one year. Not a bad deal for Nebraska at this time.

    WOOD be huge! Come on home Joe! What sideline do you and your family want to be on when Nebraska and Ohio State play in Indy the next several years? Be the Husker that gets us over the championship dry spell and live in Husker lore!

    Hard to say that. The Davis twins were "Impressed". I think the fact that most people have stayed on speaks volumes to this staff. Different strokes for different folks I guess, hopefully he will not be that impresses by Louisville or Michigan and Riley can finish this recruitment up!

    Ability to be honest with yourself as to what works and what needs to be changed. Ability to trust and manage. Allow your coaches to do their job.

    It isn't like this staff can tout Randy to him. So how do we know this? Is there a ridiculous amount of Cincy DE that I am forgetting?

    one thing I do miss about the Big 12 is the fact we hated each other. rooting for a conference team makes me feel like a Vanderbilt fan.

      There's quite a few Big 12 teams I would still pull for in this situation. Really only a few I wouldn't have. Nothing wrong with wanting some respect for your conference. Second best thing to taking that respect for yourself.

      Hey I live in SEC territory and I hate it, thats why I don't do it. The only two teams I would probably root for in the Big 12 was Oklahoma and Iowa State.

    Hopefully MR doing that meet and greet will have enough sway for Neil. What a fantastic idea by the new coaching staff. Get them all in a room and show them the family atmosphere.

    Bringing in people you trust is different when you have been around the block a few times. Unlike the previous staff, coach is going out to get guys he trust because he knows what he needs to win. I am very happy with the staff he has assembled. I don't need Scott Frost of Coach O on this staff to help me sleep at night. Riley has my full support because of his experience being a head coach before.

    And wasn't Warren his lead recruiter? Not like a different coach is in charge of him. I'd say if the staff has not contacted him by now you might as well get used to the fact he is not coming to Nebraska.

    Well there is a difference when the instate recruit is 4 stars across the board and ranked as the best guard in the nation by ESPN and top 7 across the board. Little different than kids with little exposure on the national scene and low rankings. I know recruiting rankings are an inexact science but your examples is apples to oranges.

    In any case if the local teams back off a kid it should always be a concern. Not going to speculate about this because I have no information to do so. All I'm saying I'd that it raises eyebrows.

    Dang, OU's recruiting class must be full of OL talent if they can turn down a top 5 rated guard in their backyard. I hate to be a negative Nacy, but Sooners and Hogs keeping their distance scares me.

    Whataburger's cheeseburgers are pretty gross but you go there for the patty melt and the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuts.. Everyone knows that. BTW, Raising Cane's is good but overrated. I only go for the sweet tea there.

    God I feel horrible for this kid if that's the case. If that's how it went down that is really shady by coach Riley and the university.
