LHS was a great feel good story this year. I was hoping they would go deeper in the playoffs. They have a couple dudes on that team that can runnnnnn.

I think there are quite a few similarities between Petersen and Frost to be honest. Both seem quite unflappable. My main reason is in my opinion you want as close to a known quantity as possible when you pick your HC. Petersen has already gone through the rigors of the undefeated seasons, he's unfortunately already had to deal with children having serious health issues. I do agree that the call from your alma mater and home state university is a powerful one. I want to be clear that I would be very happy with Frost if Nebraska were to hire him. The question I ask myself when comparing the two is, "Do I think the Nebraska job is possibly too big for them?" I have zero doubt that Petersen could handle it, I have small doubts on Frost only because he hasn't had to go through it yet.

Lee has a heckuva chance to play in the NFL. He'll have a great pro day plus any combine stuff he goes to. It'll all come down which team he catches on with. I mean, Tom freakin' Savage got some run in the NFL and he hardly set the world on fire in college at Rutgers and Pitt. Barkley could quite easy go off rushing-wise. I think you and I are in the same boat. We both agree Barkley is going to have a great game, I feel it'll be through the air, you feel like it'll be on the ground. Ugh, it might be pretty ugly on Saturday.

I've never had much luck with 1q lines as I've fallen victim countless times to two meaningless 5 min drives in the 1q as the teams feel each other out. I wish you the best of luck if you decide to pull the trigger. I would imagine the 1H line will be -14.5 or so.

Full disclosure, I already bet PSU -26 so I'm obviously a bit biased. Now, 26 points is a lot and unless PSU just beats the absolute brakes off Nebraska, the backdoor cover is a possibility. I could easily see PSU up 35-3 with Nebraska having an opportunity to cover with a 'meaningless' 4q drive. If this was an 11a game I'd be a little more inclined to take Nebraska as the crowd wouldn't be as much of a factor. With the game at 3p CDT, PSU having never beaten NU in Big Ten play and Franklin being a bit of a jerk store I'm thinking 45-10 is in order. I don't think Barkley runs for a ton of yards (75ish) but I do think he kills Nebraska in the receiving game (125+).

I'd be pretty surprised if Lee suits up on Saturday. The concussion protocol is lengthy (rightfully so) and it just seems like a tall hurdle to clear in one week. Plus, let's be honest, the season is sunk. I agree with @KingBlank, let's see what Nebraska has with POB.

That's fair on the 590 guys. I like a little bit more sports talk vs goofy shtick so they appeal for me. Plus they talk quite a bit of baseball which I appreciate and not just awful Cubs homer stuff. +1 on the other comment. Hi Nick. Or Chip.

Does nobody listen to Handley and Joe Quinn on 590 during the afternoon drive time? They blow the USC guys out of the water. I generally like Sharp and Benning although Ehance's point about Benning being deliberately cryptic for the sake of being cryptic is annoying at times. Bahe's program has plummeted since Schick left. Schick is/was really freaking good. Probably why he's at ESPN now. I hate Bahe's stupid forced laugh thing he does. I'm not much of a basketball fan so I see no reason to tune into Bahe. I agree with the consensus that USC with Kugler and Severe was great. I'll give Severe a listen every once in a while. Thanks to whoever posted up the Bill Callahan parody call. I remember when they went totally off the rails and started doing all the parodies of the parody. My favorite was, "Hi! I'm championship Callahan. I'm a ghost because I don't exist. Husker fan." Big Red Overreaction is entertaining for the same reason watching an extremely drunk person trying to walk is entertaining. I still watch Big Red Wrap Up each week. For the life of me I don't know why since everything they talk about/interview is usually readily available from multiple outlets. I didn't see the Pick 6 Podcast listed. I do listen to that generally every week.

How MSU has been able to crank out NFL QBs for the past 10 years is one of the great paradoxes in CFB.

Jones. I would be very surprised if Morgan declared early as he is essentially Westerkamp with worse hands. I will give you that Morgan is a bit taller than Westerkamp and doesn't have nearly the injury history. I will laugh hysterically with a mix of sadness if Gates gets drafted. Actually, it would be the epitome of the Mike Riley era if Nebraska got a higher than usual number of guys drafted.

Kelly to Florida seems weird to me but I can get there. Florida can throw an obscene dollar amount, you do have the proximity to good recruits and the SEC East outside of Georgia is pretty weak. While we agree that the coach will be under a microscope everything I've read on Kelly in that regard is he simply doesn't care what people think of him. Florida has shown they have no issues cutting bait (no pun intended) and regardless, the Florida job seems to be one where you only last 5 years tops.

I thought POB looked pretty good all things considered. If the next couple games go like the point spread is indicating it would be nice to see POB get some more live game reps so he can get some more tape out in case he decides to transfer. I watched almost the entire UCF game on Saturday and while Milton is athletic he doesn't wow you with his arm and no one is going to confuse him with Kahlil Tate (shameless plug for Tate btw, he's the QB for Arizona and might be faster than Lamar Jackson). I'd be curious to see what Frost's offense (if he gets hired) would look like with a slightly less athletic QB but a far superior passer. That being said, I'd be surprised if Frost doesn't bring in a JC guy like Terry Wilson and there seems to be some smoke around Locksley. I do expect either POB or Gebbia to transfer and honestly wouldn't be stunned if they both left.
