  2. If the NCAA is going to enforce this rule, it is going to have to figure out if a particular username is really a fan of that institution or not. What I'm saying is that opposing schools' fans could POSE as Husker fans and make all kinds of inappropriate contact (in the name of Husker Nation). Similarly, Husker Nation (if we weren't such nice, upstanding citizens), could create Twitter accounts like Whisky4EVAH and inappropriately contact Wisconsin recruits pretending to harass them to attend Wisconsin, in the hopes of getting Wisconsin in some sort of hot water. Do you really think the NCAA wants to police/investigate this stuff? The schools, on the other hand, have to go through the motions of trying to get their fans to comply with an unenforceable rule, because NOT trying would make them more likely to be wrist-slapped, or worse. In short, we now return you to your regularly scheduled life, already in progress.
  3. I would argue that it is NOT taking time out of recruiting. Instead of "one-at-a-timin'" he's MASS COMMUNICATING.
  4. No, but it shows he : a) is committed to his players b) is a man of his word c) is a supreme organizer of staff and time d) is not lazy and will make sacrifices himself e) understands the value of his face time on the national stage for Nebraska on a Jan. 1st bowl game.
  5. Maybe I don't understand something of the politics or sponsorship of this board, but I don't get how a commercial enterprise can solicit ideas for their "stock & trade" (particularly in exchange for a just a paltry free t-shirt). And then have the topic PINNED. Seriously? If anyone has a good idea for a t-shirt, there are any number of places on the internet that will make them up for you. You can sell them yourself, quite easily for very little on Etsy or Ebay or roll your own web store. The hardest part is the good idea. I don't get why anyone would give away good ideas (or even half-baked ones) to people who only intend to profit from them.
  6. The more I read about Adrian, the more I think he may just play as a true freshman. Particularly if there are injury concerns for Gebbia, with his size. I can see Adrian not redshirting and being the #2 QB as a true freshman.
  7. Here's where Nebraska's program is metaphorically: Really nice to see NU coming out on top of these other programs that had offered Adrian Martinez. This kid could turn out to be Frost's (first) Husker version of Marcus Mariotta.
  8. Given Scott Frost's introductory press conference comments about getting the program back to where it used to be, and specifically on all of the Nebraska kids out there that grow up bleeding Husker Red and wanting to wear that "N" on their helmets, and how we need to make sure good Nebraska players are not going to other programs (etc.) I thought I would start this thread as a tribute to those Small-Town/Farm Kid Nebraska Cornhuskers of yesteryear. Scott Frost, from Wood River, NE (2016 population: 1354 ) is an obvious choice. I'll let you decide the definition of "small town". Feel free to note any background you feel is relevant and links to their Bio pages on Huskers.com. Feel free to include YouTube videos, if you like. Commenters, feel free to quote the original post of the player and add more content (like YouTube videos) if you feel that more should be added. To start things off, I'd like to give a tip of the cap to Husker brothers Joel and Jeff Makovicka, from Brainard, NE (2016 population: 320). Jeff's Bio Page In addition to devastating blocking as a FB, Jeff averaged 6.3 yds per carry and was on both the 1994 and 1995 Nebraska National Championship teams. Article on Jeff: Nebraska Cornhuskers’ walk-on history proves that, in recruiting, there’s still one trait no metric can beat Joel's Bio Page Joel was on the last 3 Nebraska National Championship teams (94, 94, & 97), He averaged 5.9 yds/carry but more than doubled his older brother in TD production (6 vs 13).
  9. Pruitt looks like a solid hire, IMHO. Will be interesting to see who his OC and staff will be. Will be interesting to see what their recruiting class for this year will look like, after all the confusion & bad press. Fulmer may get a lot of credit for steadying the ship.
  10. It's not Frost's offense that I'm concerned about. #GoCodeRed
  11. This is sort of quality control is why the joke is that the "N" stands for Nowledge.
  12. Here's my little contribution:
  13. If this allows Philipp to learn the Duvall/New-NU ways (before he departs for another school's gig) then I'm all against it.
  14. IMHO, Scott & Ashley should take a look at this new Lincoln home listing. It's only a 19 minute commute to Memorial Stadium. Looks like the sort of place a Head Coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers could entertain and raise a family.
  15. I also see that Jovan Dewitt (named as one of the seven confirmed to be coming to NU) was the linebackers AND special teams coordinator. I also see that Barrett Ruud is expected to be the ILB coach. That would make JD's responsibility OLB (I'm guessing). I wonder if SF will still have him handling ST or if he will name a separate ST coach?
  16. Did I miss something or has Zach Duval - the UCF Strength & Conditioning Coach - not been announced yet as coming to Nebraska. If he doesn't that would shock me. EDIT: I see now that the OWH article said:
  17. I can tell you that it is the football equivalent of Speed Chess.
  18. One of the greatest, most underrated movies of all time: Searching for Bobby Fischer Bob Devany.
  19. Now is the winter of our dis content...
  20. I manage 4 YouTube channels for my employers businesses. Forget SF's DC and bring the UCF media and video editing team with him to NU. That is an awesome recruiting tool in and of itself.
  21. Hearing rumors that the University of Tennessee has just changed their Fight Song:
