  1. Shut the f#*k up Musberger. ESPN can go suck a bag of dicks. Not everything has to be about the SEC. Excuse me while I go puke.

Unf'nbelievable over the top bias. It's so disgustingly nauseating. Worst football broadcast ever. CFB is ripe for an up and comer to kick ESecPN to the curb.

  2. I've never heard announcers with so little good to say about a huge play like that ko return. Brent is crying big ole sec tears.

You'd think Ed Cunningham just saw a 100-yard touchdown pass.

In all fairness, they almost did. Take a knee, go into OT and we could be watching FSU/Alabama lol.

Well, he pretty much beat them in the Iron Bowl. Take away some slow gits slacking on the final play, and the generally bad idea of attempting that field goal in the first place, Alabama would have almost certainly won that game.

  5. I like funny, roll with it Bo. One of these for every angry outburst and he'll be just fine.
  6. I hate to see places like this close, but I lived in Lincoln for five years in the early eighties and don't recall ever seeing or hearing about it. I thought I knew about all the dives and greasy spoons- guess not.
  7. If the current team could bring the losing up to that level for three years running, we might be in position for another run. /jk
  8. Bucky, you can be funny sometimes. Did you actually state that "no conference partner of Nebraska won a national championship from 1992 to 1997"? I wonder if that has anything at all to do with Nebraska playing for it 4 of those 6 years and winning it thrice. I'm a little fuzzy on 92 and 96, but I'm guessing our conference partners struggled with Nebraska those years as well. If your point is, Nebraska was so dominate their conference partners didn't have the opportunity, then I get it. But it seemed like you were trying to prop up Bama because they couldn't even dominate their own conference. Seems like a silly point to try to make.
  9. That is terrible. Not one quote from a Nebraska player or coach. Wow. Whoa. That's unbelievable. Georgia lost to Georgia and the rain. Let's see what Georgia players and coaches have to say about Georgia. I read that article twice. I have two questions; did Nebraska even play in the Gator Bowl or did I just imagine we had a game on Wednesday? And, would Georgia have still lost if there was no opponent? According to this article Nebraska was not involved in any way, shape, or form and Georgia would have lost facing no opponent but themselves. Unbelievable and terrible but unfortunately par for the course with ESecPN. edit- JTrain, that may well be just an AP article but it is posted on the ESPN site. That makes them culpable for the content (or in this case, lack of content) no matter how or why it ended up there. And, to be more clear, I am not claiming any conspiracy against Nebraska by ESPN. What I am claiming is an unnatural pro SEC bias by ESPN. I do not think that can even begin to be denied.
  10. Excellent post. +1 These are the 3 main (and possibly only issues) that simply must be addressed. I am absolutely fine with keeping this staff intact (even Beck) if they make some serious effort at these 3 things. Special teams has to become a positive (or at a bare minimum not a liability). I get the feeling that the punt return is more of a philosophical/scheme decision by Bo than the special teams coach. I have trouble believing Bo would put up with this lack of result/execution against his will. But, a new unit leader should be expected in this area because it has been so poor. Offensive play calling has also been troubling at times. I think Beck has the ability to dial up some good plays but I just don't think he can manage a game from beginning to end. There is little flow and setup and too much haphazard throw sh#t against the wall and see if it works. Maybe he'll get better with more experience, but I doubt it. At the very least, I hope Bo gets Beck some help in this regard or that somebody better takes more of an active role. I would like to see Beck replaced with a real OC, I just don't see Bo doing it though. I expect defensive play calling will get more aggressive, which would be a good thing. It has to be as easy for Bo to see, as it is for most of us, that these guys do much better in a proactive attack mode than they do in, as True calls it "pretty princess patty cake patty cake pressure package". With the skill we should have in our front 7 next season, Bo has simply got to unleash the beast in these guys. It will be interesting to see if he can evolve to a more attacking defense from his more favored bend but don't break philosophy. Eliminating the us against them attitude should be self explanatory. The very small number of fans and media members this might actually apply to as "them" is so small and inconsequential that Bo and the players should adopt an ignore them attitude instead of giving credibility to a minority movement that is undeserving of their attention. As I review all 3-4 of these issues, it becomes clear that the only hurdle is Bo's willingness and philosophy. If he begins to evolve and change, he could stick around and be successful for a long time. If he doesn't see the need or feel compelled to address these things, I and many others won't "miss him when he's f'ing gone".
  11. Pleasantly surprised by the performance of all B1G teams today. Each appeared to be over matched, grossly so in some instances, yet all have repped well. I almost can't believe it.

Funny that. I thought Minny was the most likely bowl win. I figured we were a longshot to win.

Bad day for my donkey bowl pool picks but a good day for my team and our conference. I can live with that.

  12. Good win. It was refreshing to see Bo smile. Haven't seen that in quite awhile.

  13. Well I hope this is the game that takes me totally out of contention. I won't be happy if I score well on this one.
  14. wTH Corso? My showerhead puts out less water drops than the spittle flying out of your mouth. May be time to go back standard definition tv imo.

Not tonight but I do think I'll check out the dispensary sometime this week. Not that I have a burning desire to get high, I just can't believe it's possible until I do it myself. Hah, from all the talk they'll prob be out of stock by the time I get around to it.

  18. Apparently Biff (err I mean NUance) has a Delorean and a 2018 sports almanac.
  19. Just curious, I know our S&C may have areas that need improvement (we all do), the entire team does. But honestly, I might be naïve, how does that change this year's injuries? Should the S&C coaches have put a bionic foot on Martinez? Possibly replace the OL's MCL's with bungee cords? Maybe if they wouldn't have made Turner's quads so dam strong he wouldn't have pulled his hami? I don't get it.... and if you tell me "proper stretching", I will slap you silly.... I think proper stretching (and some jumping jacks) would help. Heh heh.
  20. I'm curious....... what if we have a similar number of injuries *knock on wood* as we did this year? Will that automatically cause some of you to back off these 11 and 12 win requirements, 0-2 loss requirements, CCG appearance demands? It sure seemed to be a pretty universal excuse (explanation) for the results of this past season by many posters hereabouts.
  21. I don't think this "value" has anything at all to do with our national relevance. The only thing that will improve national perception and relevance is winning games and playing a better brand of ball. If anything, being ranked at number ten in this value ranking, should tell us that we're not getting our moneys worth for any poll ranking less than number 10.
  22. I don't have a lot of hard and fast benchmarks the team has to meet. My number one priority is simply that they play better in all facets of the game, win games they should, don't get blown out in any, and for the love of God, play and coach all 4 quarters for once. As far as more tangible things; 1- We're Nebraska- we belong in the top 25. Do what it takes to get there and stay there every week. I would've said top 15 but I am willing to accept baby steps for now. 2- I do think, as far as this current staff is concerned, there are some hard and fast requirements at this point in time. Winning our division and at least playing well in the CCG would be a bare minimum for the upcoming season. I wouldn't say I "expect" any of this to happen, but if it doesn't, Pelini and Co. can go packing.
  23. This ↑ +1 Sad performances so far for the B1G. Minnesota beating Nebraska and losing, NU beating Michigan and having them loose their bowl... these are reasons that Nebraska fans might feel embarassed, not reasons for the B1G as a whole. Even then I wouldn't feel that "embarassed" because the transitive property doesn't exist in college football. The bowl results don't necessarily mean that KSU and NU are even or that Syracuse would beat NU. As a B1G fan both bowls went down pretty much like I expected and I'm not embarassed by either. There are only three games that open us up to embarassment in my opinion and that's Cap One, Rose and Orange. Bad losses in one of those would hurt since they're all more or less even. I wouldn't say I'm embarrassed. Heck I don't play for or coach any team so it would be a waste of energy to get embarrassed by things I have no control over. I also agree that the transitive property does not work for determining who would beat whom in a hypothetical matchup. But, I disagree that losing bowl games like these is not embarrassing for the conference as a whole. It weakens the perception of the conference and, by association, it weakens the perception of every member school. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how one looks at it) the additional damage to national relevance and perception is some what lesser for teams like NU who have already fallen off the charts in that regard. I agree that bad losses in any of those three bowls would be bad (worse than the others) for the conference.
