If Bo Pelini had a decent defensive coordinator, he might still be the coach, too. If Mike Riley is given either the four or seven seasons Callahan and Pelini had, we might be able to make a legitimate comparison. Winner winner, chicken dinner.

Minus an all American running back and defensive end, right? That's like having $105 then saying you pretty much have the same amount after you spend the hundred.

Probably the biggest issue with this team. There is no run game when it looks like the defense is starting every play in your backfield. The run blocking sucks, minus a few plays every game. Pass blocking.... Ugh... Can we get low to make the defense get their hands down? Until the line improves it won't matter who is taking the snaps or running the ball.

If we should lose

He's a freshman. Won't take much. And as long as it's in a losing effort who cares?

Why not? I'm sure there are plenty of successful athletic programs he can shut down in Lincoln like he did in Omaha.

My younger brother is a position "Coaching Guru" with his own clinics and clients. He turned down two offers from big schools over the summer. His reasoning is just as you say. He can live where he is, no high pressure, long hour days and make a decent income on the side. I don't blame him. I'd probably do the same.

I hit rewind a couple of times on that play. That had 6 points written all over it if that block is made. It's the little things like that missed block that frustrates me the most about this team.

I had the chance to watch this kid play Friday at my old high school (Boys Town). He was very impressive. He has good size and speed, as well really good hands. He played balls out on every play and looked completely exhausted at the end of the game.

Stars are bought and paid for at some recruiting services. My nephew was told by one of the "major" recruiting services that they would rate him for a fee. The kid was one of the top three players at his position in the country according to two of the services and the other wouldn't recognize him because my brother wouldn't pay them.
