  1. I think the last QB recruit I was this stoked about was Blaine Gabbert. And we all remember how *that* ended. Gabbert never made it to campus. POB is here. But I get what you're saying.
  2. If Iowa can get as close as they did then anything is possible.
  3. I think the concern is at the DE position.
  4. I think which ever team reaches 21 points first will lose the game. Neither team could put anyone away. But both teams made some pretty impressive late game heroics.
  5. Kinda what I was thinking. And it gets better when you figure in the ass whooping the frightened Irish took.
  6. Testing at the end of the season is completely understandable. Testing is done year round. It's not like Eply has never seen test numbers after a season of wear and tear. I'm sure in his experience he is more than capable of telling the difference in season ending scores and pre season scores. The man developed this sh#t. He is Yoda.
  7. Let's go kick some names and take some ass!
  8. Mostly just two fingers crossed and blind faith. And watching some of his film from different camps he attended while in high school.
  9. I hope he stays. I think he should go. Next season is not promised. He's only an injury away from "who was that guy who stayed but got hurt and didn't get drafted?"
  10. If I'm a senior and I'm told that I wouldn't be playing because the coaches want to play next year's players I wouldn't even practice with the team. If I've earned my playing time then they can earn theirs. One game, or one half as some have mentioned, is not going to make that much of a difference in development. It's a ball game. Play it to win it or don't play it at all.
  11. See now, so far back as I can remember this is what I learned and coached. The last few years it seems that someone has decided that it is a bad idea or something because it's just not happening. Infuriating at times.
  12. Manufactured star? What's that mean? Home cooking boosted his stats. There were many plays when I had him buried and he got credit for tackles. Used to piss me off. "Jeff Jamrog on the takle," when it was actually "Jeff Jamrog on his backside, 7 yards down field." Interesting... considering the guy lettered three times at NU and was a starter, after walking on. Or were the Huskers manufacturing him at that point, too? Great coaching and a great Weight training program will get you that. I'm just calling it like I see (or saw) it. I was not impressed with him on the field.

  14. Both, really. The hand play, footwork and leverage helps in pass blocking as much as run blocking. Ball carriers who wrestled showed better balance and lowering of their center of gravity than noon wrestlers. Not that any of this couldn't have been coached up, but it seemed to come more natural for wrestlers.
  15. It'll be good for him. When I was coaching I found that my best players were also wrestlers. Great way to work on balance, leverage and using the hands.
  16. OSALOur Savior And Lord TAO The Anointed One NTA Not Tommy Armstrong If you've seen The Night Before with Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon Levitt, there is a professional QB character in the movie and his nicknames are: The Messiah White Jesus I would like to submit those since we're giving nicknames to guys who haven't played a down at DONU yet Nice. I kinda like "White Jesus." let's go with that one. I'm assuming he white.
  17. Put him on Ignore. I did. Got tired of his whiney posts and constant degredation of the team and coaches. Every single post.

  19. I remember playing against him way back in high school. He was quite the manufactured star. Kind of a dick too.
  20. They did it for the K-state W Virginia game yesterday.
  21. What??? Really.. fire a first year coach at your university and bring in a first year offensive coordinator, who had a so so year at another university and totally mess with his recruits. Solid choice.Yes. That would be the right long term move. And would give NU a chance to right this ship that much sooner. Will never happen, but it should. And offensively, Oregon was better than so so. Careful. Scott Frost has been known to call a pass play on Third and One. As is every good OC. Some just have a better sense of what and how to run on 3rd and 1 than apparently Langsdorf has (his offense run schemes are completely unimaginative). A brief survey of HuskerBoard suggests everyone here had a different and better call than the play that didn't work, and virtually no memory of how we managed to average 450 yards a game. For the record, the 2015 Huskers under Langsdorf were ranked 27th in the NCAA in third down conversion. So yes, technically, 26 OCs might have had a better sense, but this clueless OC we got stuck with somehow fared better in third down playcalling than Iowa, Oklahoma State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, TCU, Utah, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Mississippi State, Auburn, LSU, USC, Ohio State and Scott Frost's Oregon, just to name a few of the 100 teams ranked below us in third down conversion. But keep letting that hate flow through you. The Force is strong with you. Mic drop, exit stage right.
