  1. Are you talking out of your butt? Beathard is a mobile qb. He's shown it throughout the year.
  2. I don't think any alternate by Adidas would be a good idea. I only think they can't be any worse than what we've had, so we might as well go for it to at least do something different. eh, The white Adidas alts for those teams were pretty terrible. Possibly worse than anything we've ever worn.
  3. go look at the white alts for Mississippi State, tA&M, and most recently Indiana. Tell me afterwards if you still think a white Adidas alternate would still be a good idea.
  4. to me they don't necessarily look bad, it just doesn't look like nebraska. I personally think our road uni's with the red pants is one of the best road combos in the country
  5. We moved the ball all game long except when Tommy got stupid and gave it back to Iowa. Just because Langsdorf did not do it the way to please you and others did not stop the offense from being productive.First rule of leadership, everything is your fault. Langsdorf didn't call a game to his QB's strengths and we lost. His QB's threw 13 picks in the last 4 games. It's as much on the QB gurus getting paid millions as it is the players. But at some point Armstrong has to look at the field where he's thinking about throwing the ball and say to himself, "golly, there's a line backer/safety floating in front of me that is in my throwing lane. Maybe I shouldn't throw the ball there and look for a different option"
  6. He's one solid hit away from probably having permanent damage. Just an horned scholarship at this point. isn't everyone 1 solid hit away from permanent damage? maybe we can say his risk is greater? if so i guess he is just an emergency QB to be used only if all other options are out.He had 2 huge concussions and in one he was airlifted to the hospital. You don't mess with brain injuries like that, so basically pelini was being nice and let him have the scholarship despite the injury.
  7. Hey, you came out of hiding after three weeks of wins and positive vibes here, coupled with Pelini's season-ending losses and well-publicized meltdowns. You must be so relieved to get back on schedule with your Riley/Nebraska/Eichorst bashing. Cool. Great thread. Just getting annoyed with the player blaming and bashing. That tends to die down when NU is winning. Now it flares up as an excuse. FYI, I posted after MSU. Not so much during the bye week. Armstrong was having a lot of heat go his way after 2 picks to MSU and 3 picks to lowly rutgers. It may have died down because of how we were talking a lot about the wins and the positives to take away, but player criticism was definitely still there.
  8. Memphis maybe, I'm not familiar with their academic prestige or how big their fan base is, but the potential TV market in Memphis and maybe Nashville would be a good addition. I've read though that adding Houston is something that Texas doesn't want since it would make recruiting in Houston harder, along with the fact there's already 4 teams from Texas in the Big 12. With the offseason approaching, it's almost time for realignment talks again
  9. After we lost to Illinois and especially after Purdue, I was on the fire Riley bandwagon (with the understanding that he'd be allowed to be the coach through a minimum of next year). However, I have changed my mentality of him and his staff these last 3 weeks. Yes we lost 7 games and yes we should've been able to beat at least 5 of the teams we lost to, but there was an obvious click in that the team finally started gaining confidence and the defense figured it out. Against Iowa, we very could've easily blown them out or at the very least shouldve won if not for Tommy having a really bad day (there's other threads about his play so I'll leave it at that). It would be crazy to fire this coaching staff after they kept this team from falling off the rails when it very easily could have after the Purdue loss. Look at Maryland or rutgers, they had a couple bad losses and it threw their season into a dead spiral (and guess what, their coaches were fired as a result). We were competitive in every game this year. Above all else, if you choose not to buy anything I just said, (which is fine, we're all entitled to our own opinions as long as it's justified), think about this:do we really want to throw ourselves into the crazy coaching carousel that has over 15 major schools looking for a new coach? Firing our 1st year coach after firing our 9-3 coach (yes I know, pelini wasn't fired just because of his W-L record) would make hiring who we wanted even more difficult. Just ride out Riley and his staff next year and if we're not at least 8-4, then I'd say we all have the right to want him fired. It's just not a good idea to fire him right now.
  10. Funny how quickly Iowa fans forget how bad they were... JUST LAST YEAR. This is their first season EVER reaching 10 and $!#@ing 0 let alone 12-0, and they act like a historical powerhouse. Ask ucf how 1 great season worked out for them. They better pray that Iowa wins at least 10 games next year, otherwise every other fan base will make sure that they know when they lose. Iowa fans are worse than Baylor fans. I feel better now. Good night.
  11. Better not have iron on numbers again for the 3rd straight year. Also the numbers better not be Fricken shiny again. Get rid of the tire tread "fiber Web weave" stitching. Nobody outside of Germany thinks it looks good, Adidas. I think another throwback would be cool and would make most people happy.
  12. I can't tell if you're serious or not, but for your sake I pray you're being sarcasticHe's definitely joking.
  13. Gawd I wish I had toe warmers, instead marching in place was my game plan ended up ok. Guy next to me left at half time, his feet went numb, he asked me if mine where I was like nope, while been marching in place this whole half.A friend of mine at the game got frost bite on his feet and had to go to a first aid station. He was also in line 5 hours before the game (student) so that could've had something to do with it too lol.
  14. totally TA. The wide open receiver proves that langsdorf put Tommy in a great position. People can claim that DL needs to know his qb's strengths and weaknesses so he should've justhe ran the ball, but a 3 year starting qb for a power 5 school should have enough common sense to know game situation and that 4th and 1 means you don't need to and shouldn't go for a home run shot, especially when you have a wide open receiver a couple yards past the 1st down. Obviously TA would've still had to get it to carter accurately enough to catch, and carter in turn would've had to make the catch, but the coaches still put them in a position to make the play. Tommy didn't even look at the check down and stared down the fly fade the whole way. But here's the thing....TA has been a 3-year starter and in that time has shown no consistency in being able to make those throws. It's not like him missing that throw was an anomaly. It's what Tommy does, and DL should recognize that. Now if Tommy were a freshman and hadn't shown such inconsistently I would feel better with the call, but DL is not playing to Tommy's strengths. I understand but the biggest thing is that TA didn't even bother looking down at the check down, he just went straight for the low percentage home run ball. It's not like throw was just that bad. It was a decent throw to give the WR an opportunity to either go for the catch or try to I draw a pass interference. The DB just made a better play defensively. My point is as a 3 year starter Tommy should have enough common sense to know he shouldn't throw the home run ball and that he still had over 4 minutes with 3 timeouts, on 4th down. Know the other routes for the play and find someone else that perhaps isn't being covered like a blanket. Maybe we should've just run it, though, since Tommy is barely even able to decipher when to bite the bullet and throw the ball away, let alone find an open check down reciever.

  16. I don't care if they aren't flashy or clearly don't overpower anyone, they're 12-0. We could've won but they still accomplished an amazing feat and are a good team
  17. Serious question. Not being a smart ass. Why do they deserve a bowl game? Because they've been here 4 years? Because why? I hate to be hard on them but they haven't earned and don't deserve anything. A lot of that is on the coaches but a lot of it is on unmotivated play of the players. Sorry but I don't want to see this edition of the Huskers on the field again. We need to concentrate on getting a better version on the field next year. Much better. So many people on HB laughed and scoffed when, in seasons past, a 5-7 team made it to a bowl game. Some were pissed. Now that WE are the 5-7 team, it's a great idea to go to a bowl game. My vote is no. We didn't earn it. I'd prefer not to watch Tommy embarrass us again this year.
  18. shaggy bevo (shaggy Texas no) is pretty funny to read here and there, though.
  19. Are you going to the game? If not....um....don't read the thread perhaps?I am going to the game. Thanks for asking
  20. I'm sorry but is this seriously a husker football thread? Have you never experienced cold before?
  21. he's six credits away from a master's degree. Why wouldn't you come back for a free masters and still get to be part of Nebraska Football, playing or not.
  22. Iowa is on this week's sports illustrated. We will win purely from that reason alone.
  23. pretty sure they left yesterday morning.
