  1. You are correct because Coach Frost said exactly that in a recent press conference. Well, to clarify, he said he wants a team full of warriors and Oz definitely fits that criteria. One concern I do have though is how they will use Oz against Wisconsin and going forward. I sure as hell hope they don't try to run outside zone with Oz agaimst the Badgers, because there is an extremely high probability it won't work. Wisconsin is too tough and well disciplined on defense to get beat to the outside by Ozigbo. Unless we somehow magically get the best blocking of the season from our OL, TE, and WRs. Use Oz inside and mix other players RB/WRs for outside runs. Put Oz and another back in the backfield so it isn't quite so obvious what might be coming based on personnel. (I am saying this like Frost doesn't know. )
  2. Ya, me either. I swear, some of these kids today, it would seem like, expect everything handed to them. I think it stems from this generation constantly being told, individually by their parents, just how special and talented they are. They grow up with that entitled mindset and can't deal with it when things get difficult. Was just thinking about this on my way home from work: Devine Ozigbo has moved into my all-time, top ten, Nebraska RBs because he just keeps plugging away. When he was a freshman, he played some then got passed on the depth chart by other RBs and he kept working. Through his sophomore and junior years, same thing. But now, as a senior, it looks like this is finally his time to shine. He never complained publically, he never quit, he just kept working. Mad respect for Oz.
  3. Nebraska's players were "creampuffs" but that is more on Mike Riley and to a lesser extent Bo Pelini. You can recruit the best players coming out of high school; but if they get into a system where there is no accountability, no discipline, minimal coaching, no emphasis whatsoever on strength and conditioning, the team is going to fail. These are the obstacles Coach Frost is dealing with and trying to overcome. It seems like from the pressers this week that the "lightbulb" has finally come on for these players. They, apparently, have found out just how hard they have to work to even be competitive, let alone win. Are we there yet? I'm not sure but we'll know (or have a much better idea) where Nebraska stands after the Wisconsin game.
  4. I am not saying Nebraska can't win, but the deck is pretty much stacked against us. Nebraska is, at this point, still a couple years behind Wisconsin in the S&C department and in terms of depth along the offensive line and front seven on defense. I think Nebraska can fight and make the game close if they play mistake free, but that's not who we are right now. I hate, HATE saying Nebraska can't win or doesn't stand a chance. But until they get that win in a big game, against a marquee opponent, there's really no reason to believe we can win--aside from blind hope. I want NU to win in the worst way, but I don't see it happening--this year.
  5. If Trump is impeached, then according to the US Constitution, not only is the President removed from office, but so is the VP, and Trump's cabinet. http://www.famous-trials.com/johnson/487-constitution
  6. Abdul Muhamhed (?spelling?) was about the same size as Tyjon if I recall and he was a damn good downfield blocker. It's about tenacity, NOT size.
  7. If Ozigbo can somewhat replicate that performance against Wisconsin, then I'll buy the OL and Oz stock. Until then, yeah he had a damn good game...against Purdue.
  8. Oh yeah, kids (or their parents) can buy a 4 or 5 star ranking anytime they want. These recruiting services are about generating revenue for the owners and making money.
  9. This ^^^ is absolutely true. Frost was our QB at the apex of the program's dominance. He knows what he's doing and he knows what needs to be done. He just needs the time. I understand the "holes in the roster" players leaving creates argument. However, the other side to that is it also creates opportunities for players who stay. It isn't like we're losing our best WR and playmaker. Nebraska is going to be fine. Said it before previously, I'll never criticize a player for leaving. In point of fact, I have respect for Tyjon and all other players who have left. I would rather they leave if their respective hearts aren't into, and invested in, the success of the program.
  10. Meh, I really don't care what they do at their next school. If they flop there or succeed, doesn't really matter. This is why I, for the most part, really don't follow recruiting or care about "class ranking." Winning in recruiting in February is nice, but it means nothing if the Ws don't follow in the fall. I guess what I am saying is: We only really know how good a class is 1-3 years afterward.
  11. That is the way recruiting goes sometimes. In all honesty, Tyjon never really did anything notable or made anyone say "wow" (in a great or exceptional way). I hate to see anyone leave the team, but usually when it happens it is for the best--for both the player and the team.
  12. Well, in fairness (on paper) there was some pretty awesome talent in that class.
  13. Thank you Tyjon for your time as Husker and I wish you all the best going forward.
  14. I am skeptical anything will come of this, but holding out hope it turns this season around. Still not expecting a W in Madison, but not getting blown out and scoring 35 or more points in a close loss would be a nice sign of improvement. (Meaning the game is close and competitive all the way through.)
  15. I gave you an eyeroll just because... Personally, I really like the additional options.
  16. Since you have, apparently, lots of disposable income to give away, let me give you my PayPal account.
  17. I sadly and regrettably think we're going to take another severe beating from Wisconsin. I think they're going to beat us as badly as Michigan did--at the minimum. Coach Frost's comment about burning down the existing trees to let the new ones grow seems like a pretty ominous foreshadowing. And could someone provide context for the Solich firing still bleeding? What is going on with that statement? Edit: Never mind. I realized the tweet was from a former player and it makes sense now.
  18. Isn't that what Frost & Co are doing? It is us, here in Messageboardland who are playing the "what if" game.
  19. I changed my avatar to Overgirl.  Then realized by having her as my avatar, with the emblem on her chest, it might make it seem like I was endorsing a certain ideology.  Oops.  So I changed it to Supergirl.

@JJ Husker, but yes Supergirl / Overgirl (since it is the same actress) is incredibly hot.  Melissa Benoist is borderline perfect.

      Should've been Power Girl.

  20. Yeah I have a strong suspicion that line could go higher before Friday.
  21. To the bolded...are you serious? WOW!!!!
  22. I think that's the same goal as a college football team. Either give your all or be gone. I'll tell you what, I would love to know (and be on the inside) to see how Nick Saban runs Alabama. My guess? He's far closer to my methodology than not. No one forces you to play college football or college sports / join the military. Young men and women join of their own accord. Either do it to the level your coaches/instructors demand or be gone. But before a person leaves, there is a mechanism to weed out the weak or non-committed. On a personal note, I do not, and will never, hold it against any player who leaves. I would rather a player leave of his own accord than stay and become an anchor. I don't know, maybe my upbringing, military experiences, and life in general have made me too much of a disciplinarian. I just believe that if you're going to do something, give it your all. If you fail, or fall short, no worries, as long as you know you tried your best. And that is what bothers me about what I am seeing from Nebraska football on Saturdays...too many players are not even close to giving their best/all. I have enjoyed this thread.
