Seems easier to me to win a job with a system I already know than to try and learn a new playbook then operate it the best over the course of a few months with no help from coaches until fall camp. Not to say he couldn't, because he probably could, but again, OSU is still the path of least resistance between Burrow and a starting spot.

All things equal, starting from scratch the OSU job is tougher to win. For Joe Burrow who has been in the OSU system for 3 years, the OSU job may be the more likely opportunity for him to win.

Riley would not have snagged him. You win some you lose some and if Frost can lock down Hickman and bring in the other stars out of CO and MO (STL particularly) then I think he will habe gone a long way to establishing recruiting dominance in our area.

All I have to say about this old coach AD discussion is I'm happy things have shaked the way they have. Bo was a decent enough coach, but no comparison to Frost and the staff we have now. The AD in place and all the higher administration is much better now as well and things are looking the best they have around here in years. Its hard not to feel like Frost is the next great Husker coach. I really didn't feel that way about our last 3 thats for sure.

This. If a guy is performing, people will be excited about a walk on starting. If he is struggling out there, people will start asking questions.

Scott Frost will target the best qb prospects period whether they are pro, dual or listed as an ATH. Its not as much about wheels as it is about winning and if a guy has 'it' Frost will target him.

Fast 100 does not equate to great football prospect. It may in this scenario but there are plenty of great track guys who would never sniff a D-1 field.

Texas is also a recruiting hotbed and Nebraska is not so you are making a terrible comparison. Guys get away sometimes, but you are acting as if they were D-1 talent out of HS and its an atrocity we didn't go after them. The fact is neither did anyone else at our level, thats why they are playing D-2 ball. If I had to guess Frost would have given Stick a preffered walk on offer not a scholarship offer, as he should. Stick has developed incredibly well, but he just flat out was not a D-1 scholarship athlete coming out of HS.
